INTRODUCING… Caffia Coffee in Retail Ready Bags

You asked and we listened. We are excited to share that our most loved coffees, along with our new Peru San Ignacio Grown by Women, are now available in beautifully designed retail-ready bags.

This means our partners in coffee shops, garden centres, hotels and farm shops can now offer customers their favourite Caffia coffee, as well as our Black Heather and Higher Ground range to take home.

For years, we have received calls from the public asking if they can buy Caffia coffee in smaller bags. The answer is now yes. Even better, it gives our customers an opportunity to expand their product range and boost sales.

So next time you visit your local café, garden centre or farm shop, keep your eyes open. You may just spot your perfect fix of Caffia coffee on the shelf.

Did you know Greyhope Bay Aberdeen is the UK’s top dolphin-watching spot? It’s also home to the city’s only off-grid café.

We’re thrilled to partner with the team at the Greyhope Bay Centre, who are serving our Black Heather Solasta Blend.

The Centre is dedicated to reconnecting communities with the coast, heritage, and wildlife and with their off-grid commitment and stunning natural setting, the partnership perfectly reflects the values behind Black Heather.

If you haven’t visited yet, add it to your list. Great coffee, spectacular views, and a chance to spot dolphins just off the shore, what could be better?

We recently installed a coffee machine for an office client, and they've since fallen in love with our Solasta Coffee. Their enthusiasm is so great that they've even designed and displayed an informational poster for their staff, helping everyone learn more about what makes Solasta so special.

Our Sales Director, Russell Hardwick, is enjoying the London Coffee Festival hosted at The Truman Brewery

Did you know that The Truman Brewery dates back to 1666 as the Black Eagle Brewery, the Brick Lane Truman's brewery then closed in 1989. However, Truman's beer brand actually came back to life in 2010, brewing new beers from its new location in Hackney Wick, and The Truman Brewery building has since transformed into a thriving cultural and commercial complex.

So why did it close in 1989?

People started to move towards lighter, colder, and more carbonated lagers, moving away from traditional ales.

In 1989, the government stepped in and created the "Beer Orders" because pubs owned by breweries were only selling that brewery's beer, creating unfair monopolies and less choice for consumers, while making it difficult for smaller breweries. The Beer Orders aimed to stop this by forcing big breweries to sell off huge chunks of their pubs or allow new beers to be sold in them. This significant shift in how beer was distributed added another major challenge that contributed to the closure of The Truman Brewery.

Stay tuned for our next post detailing our next London Event.

Iced Coffee season is offically here!

The sun is out and the Caffia team are enjoying iced coffee!

One question we hear a lot is whether our bean-to-cup coffee machines can make iced coffee. The answer yes. Many of our models come with cold milk and cold milk foam settings, making it super simple. Just pop some ice into your Caffia thermal cup, brew your espresso, and then add cold foamed milk and enjoy!

For those using a traditional machine, we sometimes like to get a little creative with a cocktail shaker. Brew your espresso, pour it into the shaker with some ice, give it a good shake, and then pour it into your glass before topping it off with cold milk. Both methods create a delicious and refreshing drink perfect for a sunny day!

We'd love to know, how do you make your iced coffee?

Introducing our Grown by Women- Peru, San Ignacio coffee beans ☕️

This exceptional coffee is from a Cooperative in San Ignacio,’ know for its commitment to empowering and promoting ‘women grown’ coffee. Established in June 1969, the cooperative integrated gender equality into its foundational principles, ensuring equitable land distribution among its producers.

In 2016, the cooperative further solidified its dedication to women’s advancement by forming a dedicated women’s committee. This committee plays a crucial role in administering loan programs, enabling producers to enhance their agricultural practices and invest in community development projects.

We’re often asked, “What equipment does a small café need?”

Our response is always: Who is your target customer? Are you serving speciality coffee? What price point are you aiming for? How much foot traffic do you expect? The first decision is whether a traditional barista machine or a bean-to-cup machine is the right fit. For most cafés, we recommend a barista machine; however, there are exceptions depending on the location, circumstances, and staff retention.

If a traditional barista machine is the best choice, the next step is assessing worktop space to determine whether a compact or full-size machine is suitable. From there, foot traffic and staff numbers help decide if a two-group or three-group machine is best. We also consider alternative milks—some cafés prefer two steam arms, one for dairy and one for non-dairy. Finally, we’ll recommend grinders, and all machines come with barista packs and training.

If you have any questions, feel free to comment for expert advice.
