🚨 Please help us reunite a comforter with its owner! 🚨

A customer's autistic child has lost their comforter and is inconsolable without it. If you're out and about near the Market Place and come across an orange fox 🦊 comforter missing a nose, please can you hand it in to either of the Durham Pointers outside in the Market Place, or bring it up to our Management Office, located upstairs near the cafe. Thank you 🙏

🧀✨ We know the clue’s in the name, but Market Cheese & Deli is SO much more than just cheese!

Alongside the famous fromage counter, Lisa’s shelves are packed with all sorts of Yorkshire goodies... and these beauties from Botham’s of Whitby are the perfect example. 😍

First up is the rich and fruity Yorkshire Brack. This is a traditional Yorkshire tea loaf packed with succulent vine fruits steeped in tea to give it that wonderfully moist, sticky texture. It’s proper old-school comfort food, and absolutely glorious sliced thick with a cuppa. Some Yorkshire folk even serve it with butter and cheese… and honestly? We fully support that life choice. 😅

Then there’s the Ginger Parkin. Dark, sticky, gently spiced and packed with warming ginger, treacle and oatmeal. A true Yorkshire classic with that nostalgic “just like Grandma used to make” vibe. Perfect with a hot brew, or warmed slightly with a blob of custard if you really want to treat yourself. 🤎

Find these tempting treats inside Durham Markets, opposite , beside the Town Hall entrance ramp… along with hundreds of cheeses, local chutneys, crackers, butter, deli goodies and plenty more besides! 🧀🍞☕
