Tuesday is THE day for visiting Double Door Studios! Browse and buy our beautiful jewellery, or bring us your jewellery needing repaired 💫

Open 11am–4pm, you’ll find contemporary, handcrafted pieces made by our four resident jewellery designer-makers: , , and

💍 Or if you’ve been curious about commissioning something bespoke, or remodelling unworn jewellery, this is the perfect chance to pop by and have a chat.

Plus unique silver , wooden , hard wood chopping boards by and a selection of candles.

Our door will be locked as Islay and Christina will be working away making jewellery inside, so give us a loud knock with our repoussé hammer door knocker and we’ll come let you in 🔨

If you can’t visit on a Tuesday, appointments can be made at other times, drop us a DM or email.

Big shiny congratulations to our award winners from this year’s Degree Show at 🏆

and .a.gillies will both get to spend some time in our jewellery workshop honing their skills plus a mentoring session. We are looking forward to helping them out! You can too by giving them a follow and supporting their endeavours 💫

We loved Charlotte’s layering and the movement in her pieces, and the textures and stone choices of Beth’s work really spoke to us, so we hope we can be a wee help in these passionate young jewellers’ first forays into the exciting world of making jewellery for a living!

Congratulations to all the new art school graduates, it’s such an exciting time and we hope you all have a fun and fruitful degree show!

Our final weekend event for

We’re opening our jewellery studios and workshop for a behind the scenes look of how our jewellery is designed and made.

Explore sketchbooks, inspirations and design processes, and get a fascinating insight into how ideas develop into finished work.

Jewellery designers , and will be there to talk about their work and collections, and show the materials and gemstones they have to work with and what the possibilities could be.

A perfect opportunity if you’ve been thinking about purchasing, or commissioning, a special piece of jewellery and want to find out more, or if you just want to learn more about how jewellery is made and a nosy in a workshop 😁 … drop in anytime between 11am–4pm this Saturday and Sunday!

Also a great chance to check out our HOT BENCH if you’re a jeweller and looking for a short term space to work or access to extra tools ⚒️

This Saturday, bring us your unworn jewellery and we will guide you through what can be done with it to get it worn again 💫

Whether it just needs a good clean and polish 💍 repaired or resized ⚒️ or maybe a full remodel into something completely different using the precious metal and stones from your existing jewellery 👑 we can do that!

Drop in between 11am–4pm. Jewellers , and will be on hand with ideas and suggestions for redesigning your jewellery, polishing cloth in hand ✨

Thanks to those that came, or tuned in, to our first 𝚂𝚝𝚘𝚛𝚒𝚎𝚜 𝚏𝚛𝚘𝚖 𝚝𝚑𝚎 𝙹𝚎𝚠𝚎𝚕𝚕𝚎𝚛𝚢 𝙱𝚘𝚡 and heard and .saramarshall tell stories about some of the jewellery they’ve created and the processes and ideas behind it.

Total social media fail as we didn’t take any photos, or press that tiny button to save the video after the live stream. But never mind, just means we’ll have to do it again sometime! Big thanks to one of our attendees for at least taking this one photo of herself and Islay 😅

Our next event for is Redesign Your Jewellery, this Saturday 16th. Drop in between 11am-4pm with your unworn jewellery and let us guide you through how it could be transformed and worn again by repairing, cleaning, polishing, or remodelling into something new.

This Saturday we’re kicking off our May events with Stories From The Jewellery Box.

Double Door Studios’ founder and newest resident .saramarshall will discuss their artistic journeys, and the creative process behind individual objects they have created.

It starts at midday and will carry on until about 1:30. It’s an informal occasion (feels less pressure to say that!) and you’re free to bring a drink or snack. Stools are first come first seated and space is limited, so please turn up on time to make sure you get in, or send us a DM and a promise of attendance and we’ll put your name on a stool.

Looking for somewhere to make, paint, draw or design things? We currently have one whole room for rent which would suit a variety of artistic purposes!

⭐️ Approx 13.2 sqm (142 sq ft)
⭐️ South facing window so nice and bright
⭐️ Right now it’s got some stuff in it. It could be empty, or we could negotiate if you wanted to use some of the stuff
⭐️ £180 per month , plus share of electricity (about £35 per month), on a rolling monthly lease agreement, or longer!
⭐️ Price includes access to WiFi, share of business water rates and building insurance
⭐️ Plus access to studio sundries such as cleaning products, first aid kit, toilet roll, and other fun shared things like a vacuum cleaner and printers (inkjet and laser!)
⭐️ Option to use the Exhibition Room to showcase your work and meet customers and take part in studio events

It makes a lovely studio for one, but also big enough to be shared.

We’ve got three events happening, as well as our regular Drop-In Tuesdays, so if you’ve been thinking about visiting here’s many chances:

💎STORIES FROM THE JEWELLERY BOX
Sat 9th, 12pm–1.30pm
In this informal talk, jewellers Islay Spalding and Sara Marshall will discuss their artistic journeys, and the creative process behind individual objects they have created.

💍REDESIGN YOUR JEWELLERY
Sat 16th, 11am–4pm
Bring in your unworn precious metal jewellery and let us guide you through how it can be transformed. Whether it needs to be refreshed with a clean and polish, repaired so it can be worn again, or remodelled into something new, we can help you sort through it and decide the next steps. 

⚒️OPEN STUDIO WEEKEND
Sat/Sun 23rd/24th, 11am–4pm
Get a behind the scenes look inside a working jewellery studio and discover how pieces are designed and made. 
Explore sketchbooks, inspirations and design processes used by our resident jewellers, and get a fascinating insight into how ideas develop into finished work.
Jewellery designers , and will be on hand to talk through the process of commissioning your own piece of bespoke jewellery, from kilt pins to engagement and wedding rings, and show the materials and gemstones they have to work with and what the possibilities could be. 

We’d love to see some friendly faces, catch up with our customers, and show you some of the new work we’ve been making, so please drop by and make the most of these live events happening in our city!
