Your piercings deserve a little extra love this summer ☀️✨

Heat, sweat, sun, swimming, travel, festivals… summer can be tough on both healing and fully healed piercings. A little extra care now can make all the difference between happy, healthy piercings and irritation you didn’t bargain for.

Please don’t ignore the signs your body gives you. Redness, swelling, tenderness, dryness or irritation are often your piercing asking for a little TLC.

A few simple reminders:
• Keep piercings clean with sterile saline
• Dry them gently after cleaning or bathing
• Avoid unnecessary touching or twisting
• Stay hydrated — healing happens from the inside too
• Be mindful of pools, hot tubs & oceans, especially with healing piercings
• Protect newer piercings from direct sun exposure

Your jewellery should make you feel confident, styled and beautiful — not uncomfortable.

Something A Little Different Today…

There are very few people I trust to look after my back, neck and shoulders… but Michala at Michala Therapies in Weymouth is one of them 🤍

Anybody working in industries like ours — leaning over treatment couches, performing detailed services for hours, standing all day and carrying tension without even realising — will know just how physically demanding it can be. The aches and pains become part of everyday life.

Every single time I see Michaela, I leave floating. Truly. Her massages are next level — calming, restorative and honestly euphoric. She has the most incredible hands and somehow always knows exactly where the tension is hiding.

Beautifully balanced ✨

Double nostrils and a beautifully healing philtrum? We’re completely obsessed with this combination.

Steph recently helped this client complete her paired nostril look after a previous piercing elsewhere had unfortunately left the symmetry feeling slightly off. Her left nostril (client’s left) was carefully pierced by Steph, whilst the existing right nostril was upgraded with matching jewellery from our collection to create a much more harmonious finish.

We love facial symmetry 🩵

The philtrum piercing was also performed by Steph a few weeks ago and downsized yesterday to better support the healing journey and encourage a smoother, more comfortable healing process. All three piercings are still healing beautifully.

One of the most important — and most overlooked — stages of piercing healing is downsizing your jewellery.

When we first pierce you, we intentionally fit a slightly longer post to safely allow room for swelling during those early healing stages. However, once the swelling settles (typically around 4–6 weeks), that extra length can begin to cause problems rather than prevent them.

Jewellery that’s too long can move excessively, catch more easily, irritate the tissue, and delay healing. In some cases, it can even affect the angle of the piercing over time.

Downsizing to a correctly fitted post creates a more stable, secure fit which supports calmer healing, greater comfort, and a far more refined result overall.

At Isha Body Jewellery, the downsizing appointment itself is complimentary — you simply purchase the correctly fitted jewellery, as your initial post was never intended to be permanent.

This isn’t an upsell. It’s an essential part of professional piercing aftercare.
