🌎🌎Happy Earth Day !! 🌎🌎

Being able to make jewellery, ethically and with the world in mind, gives me a great deal of joy and is such a contributing factor to why I continue to do what I do. I’m going to take today to slow down and reflect a bit on how I can continue to do my part for the planet and how I can incorporate new sustainable practices into my jewellery making moving forward! But for now, here’s a few things I do that I’m very proud of 😊

🌱All my collection pieces are made from 100% recycled metals (except for chains!)

🌱All items are shipped with a handmade pouch created using zero-waste pattern.

🌱Packaging boxes are made from recycled cardboard, FSC approved and fully biodegradable.

🌱I STRONGLY recommend that you don’t dump your old jewellery! I offer a remodelling service so if you have any old sentimental pieces that you’d like to give new life and new meaning to, get in touch and we can get started!

9ct gold ring with a sapphire and diamond set.

This one was inspired by the artist Makintosh as the client has a particular love for his style of art!

Makintosh was known for blending bold angles against floral inspired curves. This ring was for a client who also requested an art deco inspired ring so I think it creates a really nice contrast to other ring! We used diamond and sapphire in the other ring too so they both make a lovely wee cohesive set 🥰

Art Deco inspired 18ct gold rings with sapphire and diamond stones.

The Art Deco era was very bold, very glamorous and very modern, marking one of the more iconic movements in art and jewellery history.

This style of jewellery mirrors the lavish parties, sophisticated self expression and nightlife of the 20s. Thank you jazz era 🎺

You’ll see this reflected above through the geometric shapes as well as the use of sapphire and diamonds which creates a nice bold contrast. A lot of fun to make and I’m super pleased with how it turned out!

An 18ct gold Elven inspired ring 🧝‍♀️🌙

Elven inspired jewellery has roots that go back longgg before Tolkien first released the Lord of the Rings trilogy. The flowing nature inspired patterns of celtic jewellery in particular are a major historical root for the Elven aesthetic and was a really interesting one to research! It gives the piece a sense of something grown rather than made 🌿

Engagement ring made from platinum with an aquamarine gemstone 💎☪️

This one was for someone that I share a lot of mutual friends with so keeping it a secret was not easy!!

I made this one by carving it out in wax first (video above ⬆️) which is always very satisfying to perfect and get right in the final design! And then we sent the carving out for a casting. You’ll see a few special wee motifs of thistle and lavender throughout the ring as well 💜

It’s always very inspiring attending events like this and getting to meet so many talented and unique businesses within the wedding industry. All the nominees are so well deserved!!
