• Large Patinated Copper Hoops •

Inspired by Hart’s-tongue ferns (Asplenium scolopendrium)

These hoops were created using a method called fold-forming. The way in which the metal started to coil around and the marks created by the hammer used made me think fondly of the beautiful, evergreen ferns in my garden and the way they unfurl.

✨ Latest bespoke commission made ✨

The client wanted a unique and very personal, surprise gift for their best friend’s 40th birthday. We came up with the design of these silver stud earrings, one pair with a satin finish and another pair enamelled with the recipients favourite colours. The half moon shape was inspired by a tattoo the giftee has on their arm.

I loved these studs and really enjoyed making them! They are a simple statement piece that can be mixed and matched by the wearer.

👋🏻 Hello everyone!

I’ve been pretty quiet on here recently, summer is super busy. I thought I’d take this opportunity to introduce the team…and here we are! ☺️

✨ My name is Tamar (I’m the human in the photo) and I started making silver jewellery at the beginning of 2019, when enrolling on an evening class. I became a mature student in 2020 and have just finished my second year, studying Silversmithing and Jewellery.
🐭 Mouse (the pooch on my lap) is head of quality control, she spends most of her time being super cute and distracting me! 🐾

Very soon Dowr Jewellery will be making the exciting transition to Tamar Slattery Jewellery!

I can’t wait to share all of these exciting changes with you all! 🫶

“Exposure” yellow and white enamelled earrings.

Recently I’ve been experimenting lots with enamel, purists would probably say what I’ve been doing is sacrilege 🙊 but I call it artistic licence. Over-firing(and using fire-scale), contaminating it, scraping back, pickling it away and at times pushing the enamel to its boundaries. I’ve had happy accidents, also not so happy ones! It has been an incredible journey of exploration, that’s only just begun and I am loving some of the results. How exciting! 😁

Here’s an oldie!

This ring was made for my modernist ring module in my first year of uni. I didn’t quite finish it, also my design developed and changed over time, but I was proud of it nonetheless. It pushed my technical boundaries and furthered my love of modernist jewellery!

My inspiration and starting point for this ring was Edward Hopper’s painting ‘Rooms By The Sea’.

Last week my jewellery was featured in an exhibition for the first time ☺️
Thank you to everyone that went and had a look…the feedback has been overwhelmingly lovely!
There was so much incredible art work of all kinds, created by people of all ages. What a feast for the eyes!
A huge well done to everyone involved! 👏🏻

(Please excuse the poor photos! 🙈)

Hello 👋🏻
& Happy Earth Day! 🌎

I’ve been pretty quiet on here recently. Everyday life has been extremely busy with uni, work and other real lifey things! Here’s a little sneak peek at some rings I had the pleasure of working on recently.

I am very environmentally conscious in my work, using eco friendly and recycled materials where possible.

These simple bands were made from 100% recycled sterling silver ♻️

The beautiful box was made by .f.williamson 🤎

Loving this Obsidian cabochon gemstone and can’t wait to make something gorgeous with it! 😍

(Please excuse the filthy, battered, work hands…they serve me well but they NEVER look nice! 🙈)

• Elin Carnelian Ring •

When you love the end product so much, you don’t want to hand it over to the new owner! 🙊

A carnelian cabochon set on a triangular base and a textured band, using recycled silver.

I will be making more of these gorgeous rings (including one for myself), with a variety of different gemstones. If you would like one too, please get in touch!

I loved making this ring commission recently!
A personalised 18th birthday present, with the birthday girl’s name stamped inside the ring shank.

It’s always a tense wait when you’re making a surprise but finding out the recipient loves their piece of jewellery is my favourite part of commission work!
