DID YOU KNOW ?

18ct gold doesn’t mean “18 carats” of gold.

18ct means the metal is 75% pure gold.

The remaining 25% is made up of other metals, which help give the jewellery its strength, colour and durability.

That’s why you’ll often see 750 stamped inside an 18ct gold ring, that’s another way of indicating 75% gold.

For comparison:
• 9ct = 37.5% gold
• 14ct = 58.5% gold
• 18ct = 75% gold
• 24ct = virtually pure gold

So when you see 750, you know you’re looking at 18ct gold.
