Five weeks, six children, three fantastic volunteers and loads of creativity went on at Spring Craft Club! Biscuit has loved supervising too! Thank you to Wellspring West Sussex for funding the sessions.

In week one we created Spring collages, used coloured papers and improved scissor skills. Next we wrapped string around card eggs and covered these in tin foil.

We used stencils and fabric paints in week two, designing heart shaped purses for Mother’s Day. There was quite a bit of leftover paint so this was used with spring stamps to make beautiful pictures. We finished by starting to colour the foil eggs.

In week 3 we made our Mother’s Day heart cards, decorated with stickers and sequins, we coloured pretty gift bags and threaded bracelets. Everyone took their purses home in the decorated bags!

Week 4 was an Egg-stravaganza! We coloured our foil eggs and painted plastic eggs – they all looked fabulous hanging in the apple tree.

In our final session last Saturday, the eggs were added to with stickers, sequins and googly eyes. The children then blew me away with the most wonderful ideas for their Easter baskets…feathers, pipe cleaners and pompoms were added to all the other available options on the table! We finished by decorating foam bunnies.

I’m sure everyone’s homes will look wonderful over the Easter holidays with the colourful crafts!

We’ve had a lot of festive fun at this year’s Christmas Craft Club! Ten children attended over the 5 weeks, all funded by Wellspring West Sussex

In our first week we designed placements and used stencils and pens to make them bright and colourful. It was great to see some talented drawing too. Next we covered card stars and circles with paperchain strips to make fantastic hanging wreaths.

We used lots of air dry clay and cutters to make tree decorations in week 2 and some children mixed two colours of clay to make a marbled snow effect! We also painted wooden signs and other shapes to stick on these. We finished by colouring stained glass window pictures.

In week 3 we finished our placemats and wreaths then had a great time with pipe cleaners making glittery wreaths, stars, trees and bracelets.

The clay was coloured in with acrylic makers in week 4 and the finished products looked awesome – everyone took home a bag full! We completed our wooden signs too.

In the final session we created our own baubles, colouring the outsides and adding stickers and sequins inside. We had a go a some sewing cards which were quite complicated and finished by dressing up polar bears, gingerbread men and angels.

A huge THANK YOU to my fantastic team of volunteers this term.
Looking forward to seeing everyone for more awesome art and crafts in 2026!

We had a really creative 3 weeks of Autumn Craft Club before half term and it was so lovely to reunite with friends as well as meeting new children!
In week 1 we used magazine pictures to make collages of autumn wildlife and landscapes. These took lots of patience to cut the pieces to size and stick them in the right postions! We also used stickers to make hanging wreaths and had fun with hedgehog scratch art.
It was fantastic to see plain cork leaf shaped mats come alive with colourful individual designs in week 2! We also used our sewing skills to make bat and hedgehog cushions.
The art studio was full for our Halloween week when everyone decorated leaf and pumpkin sun catchers and coloured woodland animal magnets. Spooky posters were designed with some children using the stencils and adding stickers and we finished with Halloween cards.
Thank you to my wonderful team of volunteers and to Wellspring West Sussex for funding the places.
Looking forward to Christmas Craft Club starting soon!

FLASHBACK to Seaside Craft Club in June and July…what a fun and full 5 weeks we had! It was so lovely to see the children and volunteers all making friends and chatting happily while we did all the activities. A real highlight was stroking and feeding Dusty and Dottie the lambs too!

In week 1 we created seaside mosaic pictures, made keyrings for Father’s day and started colouring stained glass window pictures.
Week 2 was our fullest afternoon with 11 children – we had to use the gazebo outside for extra table space for printing fabric mats, which were later turned into beautiful beach bags by Lizzie’s talented friend Lucy!

In week 3 we used coloured foil to make beach themed stained glass windows – there was lots of careful cutting and sticking involved to fit pieces in the right place. We continued with colouring and creating our own shrinkie pictures too.

In week 4 we wrapped lots of chunky wool round and round cardboard fish shapes to make puffy decorations. We also used paint pens for our brilliant suncatchers and did seaside scratch art.

For the final week of the term, we made sailing boats which we had lots of fun testing on the water! We then used stickers, pens and lolly sticks to make amazing pictures to hang on the wall – there were so many fabulous ideas!

A huge THANK YOU to my wonderful team of volunteers and to Wellspring West Sussex for funding places for all the children!

We had a wonderful 5 weeks at Animal Craft Club with 11 children coming overall. It was lovely to see all the children growing in confidence, encouraging each other and making friends.

In Week 1 we used magazine pictures to create a background for farm and pet scenes and painted cardboard ready for stickers to be added next time.

We covered cocoa and coffee pots to become animals later then created our sticker pictures and other scenes on cardboard in Week 2. With a bigger group it was great to use the garden for extra space!

The pots were amazingly transformed into animals and magical creatures using felt, foam, card and googly eyes in Week 3 after everyone quietly concentrated on making caterpillar keyrings with buttons threaded onto pipe cleaners. We finished the afternoon colouring door hangers which all looked so bright and cheerful!

In Week 4 we used crayons to design a background and used stencils and patterned papers and foam to add the wild animals, then there was time to test out sewing skills with animal cards.
We finished sewing in Week 5, added additional details to collages and finished with colouring and playing with biff bats!

My team of volunteers have been absolutely wonderful this term - a big THANK YOU to all of them for being such a huge help.
Lizzie's Craft Club is now FREE and inclusive to all children thanks to a generous donation from The Thornton Trust to Wellspring West Sussex.
Looking forward to starting Seaside and Summer Craft Club in a couple of weeks time.

We had a brilliant 5 weeks of Spring Craft Club where new friends were made as well as plenty of wonderful creations!
In Week 1 we covered flowerpots with lots of pretty spring pictures then designed Easter scratch art pictures.
We created bunny portraits with egg boxes for the noses and ears then drew our own shrinky magnets in Week 2.
Preparing for Mother’s Day, we decorated fabric purses in Week 3 then made Easter plates with lots of colourful stickers!
In Week 4 we made spring cards, wrapped up presents and put flowers in pots before starting sewing on wooden keyrings.
We finished the sewing in Week 5 as well as decorating Easter egg holders and designing egg puzzles.
A huge THANK YOU to my amazing team of volunteers this term who brought lots of enthusiasm and smiles each week! I’m also really grateful to Wellspring West Sussex for funding some of the places!
Looking forward to starting Animal Craft Club in a couple of weeks time.
