A ring with a story almost a century in the making.

Originally purchased in the 1920s from J.W. & F. Thomas on New Bond Street, this remarkable ring later found its way to Kayes.

At its centre sits a 1.80ct Old Mine Brilliant Cut diamond. While the original mount had become too worn to restore, the diamond, along with the twelve smaller original diamonds were carefully preserved.

The centre stone was removed and sent to America for GIA certification, while our expert craftsman in London completely handcrafted a platinum replica of the original mount, recreating the ring as it would have been made in its day. The original thirteen diamonds were then carefully reset into the new setting.

Complete with its original box, original mount and GIA certificate, the ring is now ready for the next chapter of its story.

Four diamonds, one distinctive setting 💎

Four perfectly matched, GIA certificated round brilliant cut diamonds sit side by side with a combined weight of 2.02cts. Each diamond is graded F colour, VS2 clarity.

Rather than traditional claws, the diamonds are bar set in platinum, allowing plenty of light around each individual stone.

Created and crafted in Britain by Kayes, the design allows the ring to sit neatly alongside many other ring styles, or simply be worn and enjoyed in its own right.

Sapphires have been prized for centuries, with blue perhaps the colour most closely associated with the gemstone. But sapphire occurs naturally in a much broader spectrum of colours, including some remarkable shades of pink.

To mark September, we’ve brought together a selection of blue and pink sapphire rings from Kayes, each with its own distinctive colour, cut and character.

Colour is one of the most important considerations when choosing a sapphire, and also one of the most personal. From rich, intense blues to softer pinks, the differences between individual stones are part of what makes them so interesting to choose.

Design Spotlight: Savoy

With its 1920s influence, Savoy is all about the detail. Fine millegrain edging traces the halo and diamond settings, with a diamond accented band continuing the detail along the shoulders.

Available with an Asscher, Oval or Emerald cut centre diamond, each shape gives Savoy a slightly different character while retaining the distinctive details of the design.

A huge congratulations to Bethan & Josh on their engagement! 💍

Josh planned a very special proposal at one of Bethan's favourite places, Aber Falls, where he asked the all important question with a beautiful sapphire and diamond ring. And, of course, Bethan said yes! ✨

Designed around the emerald.

At the centre is a 2.17ct natural Zambian emerald, WGI certified and cut in a distinctive octagonal shape.

The bespoke 18ct yellow gold bezel has been carefully crafted to follow the outline of the emerald, creating a beautifully clean frame around its rich green colour.

Ten round brilliant cut diamonds are grain set along the shoulders, with a combined weight of 0.19ct.

A matching diamond set wedding ring completes the pairing, designed to sit perfectly alongside.

A closer look at Totum.

Taking its name from the Latin for ‘all’ or ‘whole’, the Totum design is centred around the continuous circle, a symbol of unity and completeness.

Each earring is set with eleven round brilliant cut diamonds in 18ct yellow gold, with a combined diamond weight of 0.90ct across the pair.
