What a lovely day Pontcanna Vintage Market | Cardiff yesterday - thankyou to everyone who came to chat and treated yourself to some Ty Picl jewellery! I've just updated the website with any bits that sold out yesterday - there are still quite a few one of a kind pieces to pick from!

If you prefer to shop in person you can pop into my studio on Fridays and Saturdays Meanwhile Cardiff where I have my full collection of jewellery, gorgeous aromatherapy treats from YNYS AROMA | Louise and coming soon some incredible ceramics from Angharad (off the telly she's very famous)

I'm feeling so happy about the way I'm working at the moment and prioritising time for making and being at the bench and also resting and taking care of myself 🥰

Just a reminder my bespoke commissions will CLOSE in the next few weeks as I gear up for maternity leave so pls if you have any special pieces you need for Christmas or spring 2027 now is your time to get in touch!!

We have a shop!!! From tomorrow Friday 4th September I will have my studio doors open for you to shop on Fridays and Saturdays 12-6 every week until Christmas 🎄

You can find us at Meanwhile Cardiff it's about a 10 mins walk from Cardiff central or you can drive over and there is free parking for 20 mins! You can pay to stay longer and there are so many cool businesses you can visit down here including Hikitalo Sauna sauna 🌊

So why now? Well I'm sure a lot of you remember I used to have a little shop in Newport market which was so much fun, since then I moved back to Meanwhile House which is closer to home for me.

I'm now trying to navigate pregnancy as a self employed jeweller, I've realised that my usual winter vibe of markets as much as I can might not be viable so I thought the easiest thing would be to have people come to me!

I'm determined to make this little shop a lovely little gift stop off for all your needs so I've enlisted the help of YNYS AROMA | Louise and Angharad to make sure every base is covered. You have no idea how much I would appreciate it if you came to support this little venture of mine and I can't wait to see you soon!

Some of my favourite pieces that are going live at 6pm TONIGHT!! I obvs want you to buy these but there's a couple I personally think I may have to keep for myself heh 😎 this is our BIGGEST drop ever to celebrate the end of summer and I'm so so proud of this drop, we have charm bracelets and necklaces, signet rings, gorgeous stones - the lot!!

Pretty much everything in this drop cannot be replicated again so is fully one of a kind - make sure you don't miss out on your favourites as our last drop sold out very quickly!!

Ps this is my favourite dolly song particularly because of the lip sync between the Vivienne and Yvie oddly - what's urs

This Friday!!!! I'm doing an end of summer drop, releasing so many new pieces for you to browse through, these will be available online from 5pm or if you're around Cardiff city centre you can pop into my studio shop Meanwhile Cardiff for an earlier look from 12pm.

You don't want to miss this one I've got some of my favourite pieces ever in this drop and I think you're going to love them!!

I will have a stall at Butetown Carnival Official page this bank holiday Sunday and Monday so an extra chance to come and try things on in person - my last drop a lot of pieces were sold so quickly so make sure your reminders are on!!

Just a little fish having a swim in the Mediterranean - love these photos of one of my fish signet rings from Hannah Gregory

I love to make jewellery that is intended to be worn wherever you like - to follow you throughout your adventures! I've been busy carving more fish rings as they've been so popular, I will have a new drop of these (a shoal?) by the end of the month if you'd like to get your hands on one 🐟

Just a reminder I will be closing my commissions in October as I'll be winding down for my maternity leave at the end of December and will be focusing on commissions - yes I'm hiding a pregnancy announcement far down in a post so you're in the club if you've read this far 🌞

I found making in the heatwave absolutely unbearable so I'm really loving the end of summer cool breezes and I'm so excited to open my studio doors to more of you to come and have a browse and find some special jewellery to take away with you! I'll have more updates on that soon

I had the absolute honour of making these wedding bands for Tea and James!

These rings are so special, I drew up a bunch of different designs for these two and we decided on something so unique to them. The vine illustrations are actually done by Tea herself as she is a very talented artist TeeLeafa | Talitha Young - I carved their bands in wax and made a flat surface for her to draw onto, this has led to these absolutely beautiful rings.

I'm all for engraving but I love the hand drawn quality to these. I feel very lucky to make rings for such special occasions in people's lives it really is one of my favourite things to do - I actually made both of their engagement rings too!

If you've ever wondered how I make my molten pieces - it's a process of controlled melting!

Here Im making one of my cariad adjustable rings in sterling silver and slowly forming the heart. I use a block of charcoal and a small blow torch to keep the heat consistent under the ring and with my flame I can pull away if it looks to be melting too quickly.

One of my favourite things about this process is how each comes out entirely different. From when I first learned silversmithing techniques the aim was always NOT to melt things, it feels almost rebellious not doing solder joins and melting together fluid shapes as I go instead.

Molten pieces are always my absolute favourite to make, these rings will be available at my stall this weekend in on Sunday 2nd August 10-4 🤍
