⚠️ Batteries and disposable vapes should never be placed in your household bins.

These items can catch fire if they are crushed during collection and processing, putting our crews, vehicles and the wider community at risk.

♻️ Batteries can be recycled at most local supermarkets.
♻️ Disposable vapes should be returned to the retailer where they were purchased for safe recycling.

Let's work together to keep everyone safe and recycle these items correctly.

Free Bleed Kit Training – Book Your Place!

Thanks to funding from the OPFCC, we’re offering another round of free Bleed Kit training for the public and local community groups.

Learn vital first aid skills that could help save a life before emergency services arrive!

📍 Training Dates & Locations:
• 🗓4 Nov 2 - 4.30pm – Rugeley Community Church
• 🗓4 Nov 5.30-7pm – Cannock Chase Council Offices (Council Chamber)

Max 25 people per session (ages 10+ welcome with an adult).

Don't let your pumpkin go to waste this Halloween! 🎃

Once the celebrations are over, leftover pumpkin can be recycled in your food waste caddy. Whether it's carved, cooked or past its best, simply remove any candles or decorations and place it in your caddy.

Reduce your carbon footprint - Walk, cycle or use public transport, cut food waste and switch to a renewable energy tariff where possible.

Plant a tree - Trees absorb carbon dioxide and support biodiversity, making tree planting a practical and lasting contribution.

Support climate charities - Donate to or volunteer with organisations working on conservation, clean energy and climate justice.

Cut energy use at home - Improve insulation, switch to efficient appliances and turn off devices you are not using.

We are reminding people to recycle waste responsibly after we were called to a recycling centre in Cannock this morning (Wednesday 21 October).

Crews wore breathing apparatus and removed two drums from a skip which contained hazardous material.

The contents of the drums was identified as acid and crews used two hose reel jets to dilute it.
