Some pieces ask you to slow down...I've been spending time working on memorial jewellery.
It's work that always makes me pause for a moment.
As jewellers, we often talk about celebrating milestones, birthdays, anniversaries and new beginnings, but some pieces are created for very different reasons.
They are created because someone mattered. Because a life was lived. Because love doesn't simply disappear when someone is no longer here.
There is something incredibly moving about being trusted with that.
Not just making the piece itself, but the story behind it. The memories shared. The person being remembered.
It always leaves me reflecting on how much meaning we can attach to the objects we keep close.
A ring, a necklace, a photograph, a hand written note tucked away in a drawer.
The things themselves may be small, but the stories they carry are enormous.
It's one of the reasons I believe jewellery can be so much more than something we wear. Sometimes it becomes a way of keeping a connection close.
And being trusted to create something that holds that connection is never something I take lightly ✨
