Little pieces of summer, made by hand...

15/08/2026

Did you see the Perseid meteor shower on Wednesday night? I sat in the garden late at night and watched it. It was so quiet and still, and the sky was so clear, it was just beautiful. I felt really humbled by it.

I've actually been beading little stars for the last week. It started with a custom order of two pairs, and then I decided it would be good to stock up a bit, as these get very popular around Christmas time... (sorry if that's too much!). So I came up with the bright idea to recreate the Perseid shower by making a stop-start animation with my earrings, using a black jigsaw puzzle mat I have, and my phone camera. Honestly, I spent such a long time trying to do it. And the result? I couldn't possibly show you. It's worse than you can even imagine! So here's a photo of just a few of the stars I've made this last week. Nowhere near as spectacular as the ones I saw on Wednesday, I admit, but you can wear these little beauties and look dazzling all year round!

Look at these cute ceramic beads I picked up from a 'bits and pieces' store in Felixstowe, and the book I got from a charity shop. The book felt like fate; there was one other customer in the shop who saw me deliberating and told me she'd just finished reading it for the second time, and loved it. I think it was a sign!

Sending you good vibes...

The perfect finishing touch for a day at the races. 🐎✨ I loved creating this bespoke set designed exclusively to match Shelly's gorgeous outfit for Newmarket Ladies' Day.

The perfect antidote to a scorching day at the July Course - handwoven crystals that bring a cool pop of baby blue!

Are you dressing for a special occasion this summer? Why not finish it off with jewellery from Joyful Nessy.

Soooo... it's a big one! Today is my 50th birthday. I arrived in style in what was, until a couple of days ago, the hottest June day on record! And what a June this one has been. So far it's involved a family holiday through Italy and Austria; bead shops; cafe stops; antique shop visits; meals out with friends and a spa day. And there's lots more to come today.

Joyful Nessy is a big aspect of my life, and I'm super grateful to everyone who comments, shares, follows, purchases, runs craft fairs, visits, etc. etc. Thank you for supporting me and my creativity in whatever way you do. Long may my joyful little business continue. 🧡
