Welsh Mountain Jewellery

Welsh Mountain Jewellery Jewellery & small household items crafted from naturally patterned Welsh Cambrian Slate & compliment It can exhibit a translucent surface when polished.

Using Welsh Cambrian, Slate, Welsh jasper & metals now indigenous to North Wales, Welsh Mountain Jewellery brings to life a 600 million year old geological history. Welsh, Cambrian Slate features some beautiful patterns which were formed 450 million year ago, this coincides with the slates subduction & the building of the Snowdonia Mountains in North Wales
Wales has Jasper among it's rocks. Mined

on Pen Llyn & Anglesey until the 1930s[?], this striking red rock has many qualities. It can also contain pyrite & quartz. Related to the jasper is a Green Glassy Chert, which I have a small source of. The jasper was formed when iron rich sand was melted in the mid ocean trench by lava, the chert was formed when the lava erupted out onto the sea bed some 570 million years ago in the Iapetus Ocean. Two different histories, two different rocks; Slate from Gondwanaland, Jasper etc from Laurentia...two different continents with the Iapetus Ocean in between. Gondwanaland: England & Wales, Africa, Australia, South America, Antarctica & India
Laurentia: Now North America & Greenland but also North West Scotland & Anglesey

Got an email this afternoon that the Bangor Christmas Festival has been called off by the city council due to the forecasted weather.
By my weather apps, it looks 'workable' on Saturday [presumably BCC doesn't do many outdoor markets?]!
I think they've made the call too early as tomorrow we have a better idea about Saturdays weather.
So, unless Bangor CC decide to go ahead, (weather permitting!), I'll be on the Maes in Caernarfon ['the windiest market in North Wales', I was told when I started!], on Saturday ❄️🎄❄️🎄❄️

After yet another horribly wet & windy day, a 'not even wanting to go between workshops' day(!), I didn't manage to load the car for Caernarfon Mkt tomorrow..with strong winds forecast, that might have been the best idea after all! Tuesday looks doubtful atm too.
Anyway, it gives me time to catch up with things!
As ever currently, I'll be there from 12 to 6

This weekend, we're at the Beaumaris Winterfest. I believe I'm in the David Hughes Centre. Not sure of the times yet as it's a last-minute replacement for the Victorian Christmas!

This Saturday, we're at Gwyl Fwyd Llangefni Food Festival & the last summer Beaumaris Artisan Market on Sunday..a busy workshop week ahead as I've got a fairly depleted stall!! This year we swapped the Monday markets to Tuesday & I asked the council if we could do Tuesday all year which was approved on a trial until march 31st, when the summer season starts again. Next week [hopefully!], there'll be two more stalls, Susies Fashions [Italian ladies attire], & Glanddol smallholdings [honey products]
