Little me and big me 💖✨
The past year has been a lot but in a good way. Hysterectomy, ADHD diagnosis and autism too.
I feel almost like at 43 life is just beginning, I'm finally getting to know the real me behind the making, people pleasing and trying to fit. I'm excited about the future ✨💖 so much I want to acomplish.

I wish I could go back and tell her what I know now, that she was never not good enough, broken or stupid. I'm sorry I let her down when I didn't know better.
And one day that film she used to watch over and over again....it would all make sense 🦄💖✨

'Our lady of divine grace'

Ever since I was a little girl I had a fascination with Mary statue's. My great great Auntie Mary (grandma's auntie), lived in my grandma's spare room when I was a little girl and I remember her being a devout Catholic and having statues and pictures that adorned her bedroom. I used to love sitting and talking to her. Although my mother was Catholic, and so was her family, I am not. I think my Mam wanted me to make my own mind up in years to come. Yes I am spiritual and I have always felt a pull towards Mary. From my young fascination, here is why it grew......

In 2004 we lost my lovely Grandma and months later I was missing her. I was going to miss going going to my second home in Killingworth, Tyneside to see her, it was the one house that I could still go back to and remember being small. I had always been spiritual but I had brushed it aside being young and interested more in friends, going out and having fun. I started to go there again. Going into the local crystal shop 'the wharf' often again. I bought a book called 'miracle in your pocket' and there was a story about a girl who's mother had passed and her mother had came to her with a picture of the virgin Mary. I had also read about altars. One night I called my mam and told her that I was missing grandma, I said I felt uneasy, I had ordered a statue of Mary. I was going to set up a corner of a room with Mary and regularly light a candle for grandma. I didn't know that about a week later my mother would then suffer an aneurysm and 5 days later she would pass. The day after she passed I collected from the post office my Mary statue. That Mary statue is still with me 20 years later.

I still have a fascination with Mary and Marian art and I have started painting statues, but slightly different than the normal.

This is my first.... I call her 'Our lady of Divine Grace'

The midnight blue and indigo violet colours of her gown relating to the throat, third eye and around chakra and the crystals amethyst and lapis lazuli.
