Dakota rae dust JOY BRINGING STATEMENT JEWELLERY cut from a mix of vintage, new and recycled fabrics, paired with bold vinyl prints.

My colourful, STATEMENT TEXTILE JEWELLERY combines vintage, new and recycled fabrics with bold vinyl prints to create PLAYFUL pieces that are FUN to wear. I BELIEVE COLOUR HAS THE ABILITY TO LIFT THE MOOD. I CREATE STATEMENT PIECES THAT GIVE OTHERS AN OPPORTUNITY TO HAVE FUN, EXPRESS AND CELEBRATE THEMSELVES. My colourful earrings, bib necklaces, hair pins and embellished sweatshirts feature bold

vinyl prints, that i design on illustrator, and vintage, new and recycled fabrics. I source secondhand textiles in my local charity shops, kilo sales and occasionally through donations from fellow makers looking for a home for their unwanted fabric scraps. Recycling preloved fabrics is a passion of mine and I strive to avoid buying new where ever possible. I love that by using vintage and recycled fabrics something old and discarded can become precious and because of the limited quantities these fabrics are available in, every piece of jewellery or embellished garment is a limited edition.

According to the passing walking tours that kept us entertained yesterday market traders have been using Corn Street in Bristol for hundreds of years and the official St Nicholas Market (located in the Exchange building) was established in 1743!

The council website says “the street has been a center for trade since the medieval period, with corn being bought and sold there from its earliest history”

Our homage to a long line of trolley pushing, street vendors & ?

I had high hopes of passing hen dos and locals on their lunch breaks high on that Friday feeling stopping to shop bUUUUT despite perfect weather, barely a gust of wind and occasional full sun i had a SLOW sales day.

Probably should have given my twingey shoulder (an injury acquired while leaning backwards on top on my kitchen table to paint a pink semi circle on the ceiling) a rest instead of using it to push a weighty sack truck across the centre of town 😂 OH WELL. I’m on my sofa now X X X

GOOD NEWS, We’re sticking around a little longer.

The contract at our shared studio space in Old Market is up in June but we have decided to negotiate an extension. Despite the leaks . . . and chilly Winters this dreamy spot with its shop window and excellent storage suits us toooooo well.
