Introducing the Hadean Ring.
This was a commision for a birthday gift and the brief involved lava, red and black. So what we have here is a texture based on a lava field where the very earth is moving and cracking, splitting, folding and bursting at the seems plus bright red garnets and dark black sapphires.
As I love geology I looked into the most ancient history of the land and discovered what would become our little archipelago was created during the Hadean era, just after the heavy bombardment. So the transition between earth being a lava planet and having continents.
This was such a pleasure to work on, having trust and artistic freedom, being able to set a trail of red and black stones so organically in the piece, working with interesting stones chosen with such care. What a ring!
