My crate barricade is working well and there has been no sign of the tom cat for a day or two. Fingers crossed he's got the message now!

I have had a few more successful kiln unloads and this little cutie patootie came out yesterday!

Now that May has decided to heat up, I am trying to juggle firings that reach top temperature in the cool hours of the morning.

Simultaneously I'm at war with a tom cat that has taken a shine to Myrtle and keeps coming into my workshop at night and spraying everywhere.

It is gross! I need to keep the windows open to allow the heat from the kilns out, but also stop the stray cat getting in. My current defence is white vinegar and a barricade of crates.

My new glaze is also like yoghurt and it is very difficult to work with, affecting my entire glaze process that I've been doing for 13 years 🙃.

Yes ceramics, can be theraputic at times, but mainly its a continuous cycle of frustration, stress and improvisation.

If the next 2 weeks go to pot (no pun intended) at least I will have 4 beautiful pink Picot Bowls to sell at Potfest! (I do have a bit more than this to be honest, I'm just being over dramatic for extra effect).

Have a wonderful day.

Salad season appeared for a brief moment yesterday when the sun was shining. The table was overloaded with colour from pots and food! Delicious! 😋

Life in the workshop lately, and a 10 minute sunset appreciation break.

All these pots plus a lot more will be coming to .co.uk Scotland with me!

I can't wait to glaze them so they're all colourful and lovely!

It still amazes me how popular my pants are! Today I will be making lots of new pairs.

I'm back in full on work mode, this means very early starts, phone on silent, head down and complete focus. The clock for .co.uk Scotland is ticking very fast and there is a mild panic underneath my fringed exterior.

Are you coming to Potfest this year? It is 12th, 13th, 14th June and you can buy your tickets already!

What a wonderful weekend!

It was my first time exhibiting at .east . I didn't really know what to expect, and it was absolutely brilliant!

A new event is such a great opportunity to meet new customers and potters.

Thankyou to all the lovely people of Aberdeenshire who came out to support Clay NE and bought some of my work! It was so nice to have as my pottery neighbour too. An extra special thanks has to go to Caroline and all the volunteers for organising such a great event! I hope to come back again.

As always, I couldn't go away for work like this without help from my amazing friends. Big thanks to Lucy for chauffeuring me to Inverurie, Holly & Garry for the accommodation, Laura & Isla helping me pack up and Eloise & Pauline who took great care of Albert and Myrtle while I was away 🥰

After I unload, unpack and do a stock take today I think I need a rest!

I'm perfecting the art of doing something and telling you a week or so later, if at all!

Here are the Hot Cross Buns I said I'd make last weekend! They were so easy to make and so good to share with friends. If you haven't already eaten too many of them and fancy giving them a try, the link for the recipe is in my stories today.

I hope you are having a lovely weekend in the sun, between the howling wind, sleet, rain and hail!

It has been another busy week in the workshop. (I had planned to post this on Monday but I have not had a minute, so it went on the backburner, as per!)

All my pots are ready for .east now. I just need to price everything and pack it up. This week I've been throwing butter dishes, mugs, breakfast and berry bowls etc for .co.uk . I have also been working on some new ideas and I cannot wait to show you them in June!

I am really trying my hardest to take 2 days off each week, but it's not always possible. Last weekend I only managed 1, but I made sure I filled it with the growing list of things I want to bake, make and do!

1. Homemade Orange and Almond biscuits, with Orange Curd inside 👌🏻
2. Homemade Orange curd (where has this been all my life?)
3. Homemade Beans on toast I doubt I'll ever buy a tin of beans again 😋

I'll add links for the recipes to my stories today.

The plan this weekend is to make some hot cross buns! Yum!
