PeaceGold is partly supported by a peacebuilding organisations in the Democratic Republic of Congo called the Centre Resolution Conflits (CRC). CRC focuses on conflict resolution, disarming militias, rehabilitating child soldiers and community reconciliation.

Through collaboration with PeaceGold and UK-based organisation Peace Direct, CRC accompanies artisanal and small-scale mines in Ituri to improve working standards. Through our work to date, the mines have been able to achieve the necessary protections of labour and human rights to access international standards for legal gold production and sales, all whilst supporting local community development and wellbeing.

Cooperative members like S have been integral to PeaceGold’s journey towards sustainable peace in and around the mines.

We recently announced our plans to begin exporting PeaceGold from the eastern Democratic Republic of Congo (eDRC) to market in September. We take great pride in sharing that these plans have been covered by recent articles in Reuters and subsequently by Business Insider Africa.
