While most Celtic knots are circular, representing the fluid cycle of life, the Square Celtic Knot (also known as the Shield Knot) was traditionally used as a symbol of protection and stability. It’s a grounded design, made to ward off negativity and keep the wearer focused on their own strength.

Square roots. 🌱⬜

We’ve gone geometric at the bench this week!

While I love the flow of a traditional round Celtic knot, there is something so satisfying about the structure of these new Square Interlace Studs.

They might look sharp, but they are softies at heart.

Tiny: Just 8mm x 8mm (perfect for everyday wear).

Light: Featherlight at 0.8g (your lobes will thank you).

Getting the weave to look continuous inside a square frame was a fun challenge. It’s all about finding balance within the boundaries. (A bit like trying to keep Selina off the workbench while soldering, but that’s a story for another day 🐾).

When you see a beautiful product shot like this, do you ever wonder what goes on behind the scenes? 🤔🐚

Let me tell you, it's not always sunshine and calm breezes!

This perfect shot of our new Round Celtic Knot Studs on a piece of rugged driftwood, with the waves gently lapping in the background?

Well, it was less serene photoshoot and more Olympics-level earring wrangling in disguise! 😂

Picture this: It was absolutely freezing on the beach that day (despite how gloriously warm it looks here!). My fingers were numb, trying to precisely place the perfect piece of seaglass and those tiny shells around the driftwood.

Then came the main event: positioning these little beauties. The wind, bless its heart, had other plans. We nearly lost one of the studs to the mighty expanse of the sand! 🌬️🔎

Panic stations ensued, involving a slow-motion dive and a rather dramatic recovery mission.
