The festival will include workshops across the city, sandpits on creative health, talks about public and creative health and much more.

I love using materials that are used in other crafts for stitch.

As resources start to diminish what tools can we share so that our traditional skills continue?

Jewellers will recognise this base material.

Absolutely over the moon with how Louise Deakin has created the Fragments exhibition using care, heart and respect.

On display are the artworks created by participants alongside the communal tapestry. But there is so much more.

The Rest House (just opposite the little parade of shops in Bournville) is a great space to exhibit, it’s light and bright, has a history all of its own and is accessible.

If you are in the area or fancy a little trip over that way do pop along, everything is so well curated. If you are thinking of visiting Selly Manor Museum which is just round the corner there are 4 mystery trails where you take on a character and solve the clues.

Thanks again, Louise it is such a great testimony to everyone who joined in.

Join me live on here at 11, when I’ll be encouraging us all to take a break by reinstating Elevenses into our day.

This years theme for run by and is Critical Hope.

I think that the start of this could come from sharing time and thoughts together, A punctuation in your day, a short time to gather yourself for the following hours or just stopping for tea. Wellbeing and hope can come from a pause as much as an action.

I’ll be taking my tea in a special mug gifted to me by a tiny act of kindness that I treasure.

A theme has emerged this week that I wasn’t expecting.

I’ve felt welcomed and encouraged speaking to women who are probably half or even a third of my age.

We’ve chatted on benches, we’ve listened to each other at film screenings, talked about what impacts us and yesterday University of Birmingham I re-met two women one I’d talked to at an event a fair few months ago and one I’d shared a bus journey with. It was brilliant to hear how they are getting on.

So as I sit on a bench again today for (12-2 St Pauls Square, Jewellery Quarter) I’m looking forward to conversations, saying hi and listening.

I’m not a medical professional , I’m an artist, but I do know a break from the workshop each day creates a brilliant punctuation.

Hoping that the sun will shine its light tomorrow 15th May when I will be back on this bench stitching from 12-2pm.

It’s all about taking action for . I’m not a medical professional and so not an expert in mental health but I do know that taking a break from the workshop brings a great punctuation to my day,

Drop by say hi, bring your own craft or sit with your sandwiches.

The bench is in St Paul’s Square in the St Paul’s House side.
