Hello and Happy Friday 😎 hope everyone is surviving 2026 so far.

Just wanted to share a little project we took on recently that's pretty close to mine and many friends hearts.

Once belonging to a very good friend who tragically lost their life a couple of decades ago, and now in the safe possession of his grown up son, this ring came to us looking a bit sorry for itself after many, many years of wear, tear and storage. The family had sent it to other jewellers before only to be told it was too worn to so anything with ☹️
After a quick check over, we decided we could make it right again and was trusted with restoring it.

Removing the old shank, a new thicker one was handmade to suit and soldered in place. Using the old shank and some new gold, this was all melted together and formed into a band to fit inside the head, thickening the whole inside while saving as much of the original design as possible. A good filing up, buff over and final detail polish left us with an item that can now be worn again and will last many years into the future.

Good morning, I hope everyone is well and surviving the cold (but lovely and sunny) weather we've got at the mo!

i thought it was about time I posted something on here as it's been a while... Again 🤦

So, with our bread and butter work being repairs and restoration, I had this little job in a few weeks ago. Looking rather sorry for itself in a broken and split state, and having been poorly repaired in the past, it needed a little tidying up.

Rejoining the shank and reshaping it was all I was asked to do but seeing the stones had been glued in previously, I decided to remove the glue and then secure the stones as best as I could with what little metal was left.

Hope you enjoy the pics 🙏. For reference, I think I charged £20 for this job (bargain!) and sent it back to the customer looking as good as possible.

Thanks for reading and for following. I'll try and post a bit more in the run up to Christmas and into next year, I have a couple of folders full of previous projects and some day to day stuff.

With so many weddings going on lately, I thought it was about time I caught up with posting some things we've had come through the workshop lately.

Starting with this adorable couples beautiful matching engagement and wedding ring set.

The 1.03ct natural diamond was chosen from a fairly vast selection. But, this was the one stone that kept bringing us back for a 2nd (3rd, 4th and 5th..) look ☺️!

Using matching quality diamonds, set graduated down the shoulder, really finished this piece off.

To brighten up the gents, we decided on using some lab grown diamonds and again matched the gaps to the engagement ring shoulder setting, to finally make this a perfect, and very personal, 'His & Hers' collection 🥰

Some very poor quality engraving done by one of the 'highly recommended' jewellers shop in Stourbridge.

Process; remove all the original engraving and polish the ring as new, then re-engrave (properly 😁) by hand to match the supplied design... No problem!
