Feminine, natural sea glass jewellery from the wild North Devon coast.

There’s something about the coast here in north Devon. The muted shades and tones of the sea, sand, rocks and pebbles; the way the colours blend and make perfect sense together. I have noticed very recently (and why it’s taken so long I have no idea – or perhaps I have an inkling, which I’ll come to in a minute) that in particular, grey and light brown together is a theme that comes up again and again.

Sky and sand
And it’s not just at the coast I find this. Around my home –
A wooden pot and book
A plant pot
Cushion on a chair
An old milk bottle on a shelf…
Since I attended a retreat recently at Laude Abbey led by Chris Whittington of (do look at what this wonderful organisation offers, not least, twice weekly free online Christian mediation sessions) I have been practising paying attention in my daily life to our beautifully created and vibrant world which is all around us all the time and which I for one was regularly numb to. Except at the sea, where I feel most alive. Which only means alive to what is always present, always true.
So – I’ve been playing around with my logo colours, with grey and brown in mind. I don’t think I’m there yet, and it’s certainly different from my current logo colours – but what do you think?

Is anyone else not yet ready to get going with work? Even work you love, like making? I’m taking January slowly for now, getting back to regular movement after being a bit knocked over by flu (or something) just before Christmas. And here in north Devon you have to make the most of every sunny moment- they’re rare in January 🤣. So it was a very blowy and lovely beach walk this afternoon, checking out the new driftwood displays 😊🌊.

When I worked in mental health I paid a lot of attention to hope- often it was my job to hold hope for others until they found it again in themselves. And I knew that hope could be fostered, through helping people to remember or newly decide what was important to them and take steps towards that. For Christians, hope is found in God, a firm assurance of grace and His unfailing love and presence. These 3 pendants all feature hand stamped copper discs bearing the word HOPE with a Christian symbol. They combine the hope that faith in Him brings us, with a tiny part of His creation - the sea glass gems. ✝️🌊. All in the online store now.

Hello all, just checking in with some updates - I’m in the process of adding new pieces to the online store (link in bio)., starting with these cross pendants in gold filled and silver. And I’ve added another Christmas fair - on Saturday December 14th I’m in the Pannier market for Bideford Frost Fair! My last of 2024, so I’d love to see you there ❤️. And finally, the date for last Christmas orders is Monday 16th. If you’re local to Bideford I can of course arrange pick up or delivery after that date 😊. I think that’s it for now!
