Ratbags Jewellery. Ratbags are the important people in my life, initially my nieces but now also my dogs. All my jewellery is handmade. Nothing is mass produced or made in bulk.

This means that every piece is a one off, no two pieces are ever identical.

I’m been working on this piece which I’m calling a banglet!
I love a bangle but they have to fit you. You have to get it over your knuckles. Then they can dangle quite a bit on your wrist so not everyone’s a fan.
This is my attempt at making a hybrid piece. Something that will open to fit but then can be adjusted with the chain to fit your wrist.
I’m looking forward to getting feedback about this at my upcoming fairs.

Home now after the craft fair at the Marine Hotel in Ballycastle.
Given the amber weather warning and being on the north coast it wasn’t as quiet as I was expecting.
Thank you to everyone who bought browsed and chatted today.
I’m gearing up now for Christmas Craft Fairs in November and December so you should have lots of opportunities to see my pieces in person.
Izzy is pleased I’m home. 💜🐶

I had forgotten that I’d contributed to this project.
For anyone in doubt I’m the one who looks like I should be in a Persil advert. 🤣

Izzy and I had a bit of a wet walk today. I think it’s definitely Autumn.
Which means…I need to crack on with my new pieces.
I’ll have some more photos over the weekend.

After our adventures last week I thought I should introduce myself to any new followers.
I’m Paula, small batch silversmith, dragon boat paddler and dog mum to Izzy.

I’ve been a member of the Lagan Dragons since 2015 and adopted my rescue dog Izzy in 2019.

I design and create handmade silver jewellery. I have a passion for adding texture to silver and produce simple but striking pieces with a quirky edge.

I also do a line in silver paddles.

We’re now on Sunday the last day. We just have one 1000m race and whilst we all voted to paddle after the capsize we were all a bit nervous.
Anyway we paddled got a time on the board and got back still dry.
It’s now Monday evening, just home and tomorrow…I collect Izzy 🐶😍💜

I might start posting again about my jewellery soon.

Racing begins… on Saturday we had 200m races.
Round 1 we got a respectable time but all felt we could go faster.
Then racing was suspended for 2 hours due to high winds and subsequently round 2 was cancelled.
Then in round 3 we were flying but got hit by an out of control boat and capsized.
One of my teammates was injured.
I won’t be posting the video, the aftermath continues.
The video below is us coming back in after the first race.
