🐚 June’s Birthstone is Here — Are You Taking Care of Yours?

Pearls are one of nature’s most magical gems and the official birthstone for June — making them the perfect gift for anyone celebrating a birthday this month!

However, unlike diamonds or sapphires, pearls are organic and delicate, so they need a little extra love. Here’s how to keep yours looking luminous for years to come:

✨ Put them on last — Always apply perfume, makeup or other cosmetics before putting on your pearls. Chemicals are their biggest enemy.

💧 Wipe after wearing — Use a soft, damp cloth to gently wipe your pearls after each wear to remove body oils.

🧴 Never use ultrasonic cleaners or harsh chemicals — These can strip the nacre (the beautiful iridescent coating) permanently.

🪡 Check the silk thread — Pearl necklaces are strung on silk. Have them restrung every 1–2 years to prevent snapping.

📦 Store them separately — Pearls scratch easily. Keep them in a soft pouch away from other jewellery, and avoid airtight containers — they need a little moisture to stay lustrous.

☀️ Avoid prolonged sun exposure — Heat and dryness can cause pearls to crack over time.

The rule of thumb? Pearls should be the last thing you put on and the first thing you take off.
