Bedfordshire Freemasons

Bedfordshire Freemasons The official page for Freemasonry in Bedfordshire. We have 56 Lodges meeting at 6 Centres across Bedfordshire.

Freemasonry is one of the world’s oldest and largest non-political, fraternal and charitable organisations. We are a secular society open to men of any race, religion, political belief or status. Based upon the traditions of medieval stonemasons who built our castles and cathedrals, today we still use the stonemason’s tools as symbols of our aim to β€˜build’ better men and a better world for everyon

e, whatever their background. As Freemasons, we use four principles to help define our path through life: Integrity, Friendship, Respect and Charity. In our present uncertain times, these principles are as important today as they have ever been.

πŸ”Ή Bedfordshire Lodge of Installed Masters πŸ”Ή

A well attended and enjoyable meeting at the St Andrews Rooms, Biggleswade, presided over by the Master, Martin Wilson, saw Hugh Love elected as Master for the coming year with acclaim. πŸ‘

The Provincial Grand Master, Nick Edwards, also presented 50 Year Certificates, with affection, sincerity and appreciation to Robert Lovesey and Clive Walsh. πŸŽ–οΈ

An engaging and thought-provoking talk on Misconceptions in Freemasonry by Shaun Butler, the Director of Membership and Communications provided plenty of interaction no lack of humour, positivity and talking points before members enjoyed a festive board together.

β€˜πŸ’™ β€œYou have not lived today until you have done something for someone who can never repay you.” – John Bunyan

🎟️ Members, guests and their wives of John Bunyan Lodge raised an amazing £1,168 for SOS Saturday Outreach Service through a raffle at their recent Ladies Night, with prizes donated by lodge members and local businesses.

πŸ‘ Lodge Master David Bulmer, together with Julie Bulmer, Vic Iannantuono, Ian Cording, and Jane Roberts, presented the cheque to SOS Founder Beverley Everitt and her son Brandon.

🍲 SOS provides free food, drinks, clothing and essential supplies to homeless and vulnerable people in Bedford every week of the year.

🀝 A great example of Bedfordshire Freemasons being supported by others in supporting their local community and those most in need.

β˜•πŸ₯“ Veterans & Emergency Services Breakfast Club – Ampthill

Bedfordshire Freemasons were proud to support another successful Veterans and Serving Armed Forces & Emergency Services Breakfast Club at the Wingfield Club, Ampthill, on 30 May.

Led by Ben Keenan and Nick Carney, a team of Freemasons helped provide a warm welcome, hearty breakfast and great company for veterans, serving personnel and members of the emergency services. Also lending their support were the newly elected Mayor of Ampthill, Councillor Gary Summerfield, and the Lady Mayoress, Sue Summerfield.

The event welcomed around 30 attendees and was further supported by John Philips of Op NOVA, part of the Forces Employment Charity, which assists veterans in accessing vital support services.

A fantastic example of Bedfordshire Freemasons working with the local community and supporting those who serve and have served our communities. πŸ‘

Future Breakfast Clubs take place on 20 June, 18 July, 15 August and 19 September (9:30am–11:00am).

βœ… 121 completed
🟒 101 Green readings

One member of the public messaged afterwards as follows:

"I attended the PSA testing yesterday at the Keep. This is the second time I have been for a test however it was the first time I had visited Bedfordshire Freemasons.

I would like to pass on my thanks for the efficient system you had in place & for how welcoming everyone was. I would have stayed for some tea & pastries however I was working a night shift so needed to get back home!"
