Such a special commission, undertaken by our goldsmith Jess. The customer wanted to celebrate the adoption of her son, and commissioned this bespoke silver ring to be blessed at the adoption ceremony. The central stone is a natural colour-change Alexandrite, her son’s birthstone, and the oak leaves symbolise growth and care. Inside, the ring is engraved with her son’s initials.
The ring is made from recycled medical silver extracted from old x-Ray films, making it a truly ethical material. Jess made a ring, hammered and then hand-carved it to achieve this beautiful and tactile finish. Every surface of this ring has had love and care poured into it!
Jess and our customer worked together to design this ring, so that every element of it was meaningful and special. The final design of the leaves was proposed by our customer’s brother, further grounding the ring in values of family, love and collaboration.
This is central to Jess as a designer - she truly believes that bespoke jewellery should be a collaboration, and loves working together with clients to make their perfect jewellery. She can work with materials you provide, or she can source new, ethical materials to make your ideas come to life. If you’re interested in a bespoke project, you can call our shop to ask for some advice, and make an appointment to see Jess to start the design process.
