So. I have had a few queries on private commisions. At this moment it is limited as we are due to move house soon. We haven't had the space to be able to do larger or longer projects. BUT it is in the work. Soon. Very soon!

Been a LOT of changes lately in the personal world, but things are starting to open up again. Let's start gently with a chenille yarn and a waffle stitch for a wee winter hat.

What do you make with this? Would you dye it? What colours would you use?

A Parasol? Lacy shawl? Many hand Fans? Fancy trousers or a shorts and top combo?

Wondering why I have been craving vanilla ice cream SO much. Well, figured it out. Combing up some Texel wool for a lady who will be making a snuggly warm jumper from this. It is her personal pets she has had for many years and sadly can no longer keep.

Soooo excited and happy!!!!!! I gots me a loom!!!! She needs some work, but shes amazing! This old Dame is walnut. She is not quite 200 years old. Built between 1840 and 1879 in Kendal in the Lake District by Baron and Hogarth and was used in the Leece Croft Mill in Kendal until roughly 1901 to 1907 where I am syruggling to find history for her (probably due to not being used because of industrialisation) she then reappears about the 1940s briefly before disappearing into a small business or private individual for a time. To then reappear about late 1960s early 1970s where she was moved from Kendal to unknown location to disappear until 2014 when she shows up in an antique auction and is sold to a lady in Northwich who could bear to let her be scrapped. She was never used at this point. The lady who bid and win her at auction, at tje age of 93, surrendered her to some to keep in storage whereby some years (5 to 8) she has made her way to me.

So she has quite the history she has been through the Industrial Revolution when machinery took over and the men who worked with her and the 1840s to the 1870s went on strike as their wages were reduced due to how much easier their jobs had been made due to industrialization she's then seen two world wars and probably made quite a bit of fabric shortly after the world wars as the industry had changed quite a bit especially in the UK at that time and all of the changes through the world since then.
