So here's a bit of an unusual twist on the classic Emerald cut trilogy. Sometimes it's better to mix things up a bit and think outside of the traditional. Depending on hand shape and the length of the fingers it's worthwhile changing from the usual designs and coming up with something unique,like this beauty with over three and a half carats in total of GIA graded Emerald cuts and set in platinum.
The full process from choosing the stones,discussing design ideas,coming to with drawings and then to the final finished piece!

First engagement ring of 2026! This lovely GIA graded oval set across the finger in an 18ct yellow gold simple but elegant mount to show off the diamond.
This was from choosing from a selection of diamonds,through to discussing the mount, CAD design, then the casting hand set and finished here in the workshop.
And a stunning picture of the moment she said yes!!

Another year done! I want to thank each and every one of my loyal customers for your support again this year,I really couldn't do it without you all. I'll be looking forward to seeing you all again soon and hopefully welcoming some new customers through the door too.

Just a quick post with opening times over the next few days,along with a few pieces made on site and collected over the last few weeks!
Friday 19th 9.00am to 4.30pm
Saturday 20th closed (off to watch Wolves play Brentford!)
Sunday 21st 10.00am to 3.30pm
Monday 22nd 9.00am to 4.30pm
Tuesday 23rd 9.00am to 4.30pm
Wednesday 24th 9.00am to 12.30pm
Order book for new pieces to be made is now closed until the new year,but I welcome any enquiries and I have ready made stock in the shop!

Good morning all,I'm open today and every day now (including Sundays) until Christmas eve. Apart from Saturday 20th when I'll be watching Wolverhampton Wanderers getting thrashed by Brentford.

Which would you choose? Firstly a GIA graded cushion shape 1.02cts H/SI1 stone,secondly an ungraded,but still a very lively 1.50cts round brilliant cut and lastly another GIA graded stone 1.03cts oval F/SI2. All lovely looking stones and there's still time (just!) to get them made into something in time for Christmas.

Diamond and sapphire pendant recently collected from the shop. This pendant with nearly 2cts of diamond, along with 6 different colour sapphires to give a bit of colour and all in 9ct yellow gold was made recently and with Christmas in mind,now is the time to start thinking of getting any bespoke orders in sooner rather than later so I'm able to guarantee deadlines. Some jobs are a lot quicker than others and really depends on the complexity of the design.

The prices of all precious metals are rising,with gold going over £3000 per ounce today for the first time ever,so there's never been a better time to recycle.
So,from the 4 rings in the first picture,I used the 22ct wedding band as the base,the platinum wedding band was used to make the edges of the new ring and the settings for the 3 larger diamonds.

Here's a wedding ring recently added to the bride's hand from the workshop. Made with 7 square radiant cuts diamonds to match an elongated radiant engagement ring. Set in a platinum head on an 18ct yellow gold band.

Excuse my dirty fingers,but I do actually work for a living! 🤣🤣
So Emeralds are quite soft stones and this one was badly scratched and had chips along one side,and the shoulder of the shank was cracked through. Stone polishing is one of the few things I don't do onsite,so it was a case of me unsetting the stone and was sent to my guy who did a great job of re-polishing while I repaired the shoulder and re-set the Emerald once it was done.
So I undertake all kinds of repair and restoration work and I have a team of trusted outworkers behind me for the few things that I don't do myself.
