MLD Jewellery

MLD Jewellery Hi My name is Michelle,
I am an independent sole trader of hand print and finger print jewllery and based in the Basingstoke area.

I am a step mum to 4 lovely children who are all grown up now. I have a lovely, who has stood by me in my business who i wouldn't be without. I am also a Nanny to 4 gorgeous grandchildren, who i love to pieces. I have always adored creating jewellery , the thought of taking a child's print and placing it in pure silver 99% , truly amazed me, I incorporate a lot in my sterling silver pieces i make.

I am also please to say i have a registered hall mark at the London assay office so i can hall mark if wanted. I am very passionate about what i do and hope it shows in every piece. I truly love each creation , from the consultation to each finished piece, which are all unique. Each item is made with a lot of love and attention to detail as well as care . I take my time over every piece and will always keep you up to date with the progress. Every piece is created by hand, by myself and each piece is hand polished, which can be a long process but well worth it in the end.

Term 3 of the silver diploma course completed, sad in some ways that l've finally finished. Not going to lie has been a challenge for me to fit this in with full time work which is not jewellery related, and every weekend consumed by jewellery lol. I will be taking a break from jewellery for a little while. I will also miss all of lovely jewellers on zooms
I loved stone setting claw setting and will definitely do more., and adored cast settings the ring is gorgeous, granulation in the silver and gold with rings, fiddly and definitely lost a few balls to the abyss of the floor but love the ring.
Loved making my final projects will definitely be using more claw setting designs.
Thank you jewellers academy

Term 2 of the silver diploma course completed, there were so many bits on this I loved , working with gold making a 9ct Gold wedding band, wishbone ring , claw setting on the sea glass , making collet settings, trinket box and 9ct gold stacking rings .

I can honestly say I was not a fan of wax but may try again as in fairness I don’t think I gave it enough time to fall in love, due to time.
I definitely will not be doing technical drawings I will never attempt again lol, This caused me more stress then ever making anything lol .

Finally I am sharing my journey, I signed up at the jewellers academy for the silver diploma course this was for me to challenge myself and learn more skills this was all of term Jewellers Academy
Kite project marrying of metals was a challenge with a lot of blisters for polishing I still enjoyed this.
Stone setting week I absolutely adored and will definitely be making more tube setting rings, and flush settings
Cold connections hinges and rivets will definitely use - I did loose a hinge in the abyss of my floor and had no time to replace it.
I unfortunately did not take to wax carving - but will give it another chance at some time

I’ve been pretty quiet on here lately when it comes to sharing the jewellery I make. Working full time in a completely different job means I don’t always have the time or energy to post even though I’m constantly creating new pieces behind the scenes. Sometimes I forget to take photos, and other times I just don’t get around to uploading them.
Jewellery making is something I’ll always love, and this year I’m hoping to share more of what I create. A lot of my pieces go straight to returning customers (which I’m so grateful for), so many of them never make it online.
So here are a few of the pieces I’ve made and sold recently.
And last year, I decided to push myself further and learn new skills so I joined the Jewellers Academy. With Term 3 nearly here, I’ll be posting my progress soon. I’m excited to show how far I’ve come.
