The ‘Tree Bark’ Edition Box, 2026 for The House Collection.

Made from the shell and skin of hazelnuts, the leftover materials are transformed into a meaningful gift box through a sustainable paper-making practice sourced from Italy.

Named “Tree Bark”, the box draws inspiration from the quiet presence of l’appartement MYJN , where the natural cracks, textures, and fallen fragments of tree bark become part of the home’s landscape. Some pieces are carefully cleared away, while others are intentionally left behind, creating a poetic balance between nature and space.

The warm, earthy tone of the box reflects the bark found around our home, carrying the same grounded character and quiet beauty. A simple reminder that even what is left behind can be transformed into something meaningful.

The bark found on the ground, we love its curved form and texture. It comes from a rain tree.

Rooted in the hair ornament traditions of Belle Époque Paris, a period in which combs and hair pins formed an essential category of decorative arts, The Gardienne continues the historical lineage of sculptural hair adornment.

The piece is hand carved from a single block of ivory acetate, its form shaped with a restrained, vessel-like silhouette characteristic of late 19th to early 20th century design sensibilities. The surface is intentionally reduced, reflecting the period’s shift from ornate figuration toward purified, structural form.

At the crown are set two malachite cabochons, a material historically associated with protective symbolism in decorative objects. Positioned at the rear of the head when worn, they are not visible to the wearer, functioning as a concealed detail consistent with symbolic ornament traditions.
