I love this picture, one of the rare allowed in the workshop, a bouquet of preformed Tsavorites. 💚

The cutters I am using in Chanthaburi are artisan, they dop on wooden sticks, don't use diagrams and won't change a thing bout that and I am alright with it.
Some dealers won't look twice because it is not perfect and to them only perfection sells and must be honored .

However, the vast majority of cutters are artisans, like most of the miners use artisanal mining They must be thanked for we have a trade to call home because of them. Most are generational faceters. Their youngest are not interested much with this labor unfortunately.

In our last trip to Bangkok, we sourced more weird and wonderful Peridot from Pakistan with a beautiful transparency and very defined Lugwidite inclusions.

For instance, this 5.72 carats cushion one is a fine example and if no one snatches it in Mineral & Gem à Sainte-Marie-aux-Mines I might just keep it for myself.
I don't know when I'll find again an assortment like this.

I like my Sapphires weird 🙃

Thrilled to have sourced this very partied Sapphire, with a hint of sheen.
If time allow I will sit at the microscope to capture more of it's internal features.

This Sapphire is part of a collection gathered recently and comprising of Australian and Madagascar partie-Sapphires, comprising also black and blue Stars cabochons as well as collector's pieces .
