HEGID CALIBER SPECIMEN FE-01
Manufactured in France
Hegid, the cultivates its French distinction in watchmaking and introduces its new movement: the Specimen FE-01 Caliber.
This automatic mechanical movement, with its robust modern architecture and elite technical specifications, is characterized by French manufacture. While most of Hegid’s watch components are already manufactured in France, the company is now repatriating the production of its calibers from Switzerland, thus contributing to the nation’s reindustrialization efforts.
This new milestone in Hegid’s development is the result of a collaboration with the historic manufacturer France Ebauches, established in Maîche, in the French Jura region. In the late 70s, France Ebauches had prospered to become the world’s second-largest manufacturer of mechanical movements, but then declined and closed its doors a few decades later. The French Manufacture was recently relaunched by the Festina group, owner of Soprod, an integrated and independent manufacturing company producing calibers for major brands in its workshops since 1966. The new French-manufactured Hegid caliber has been developed based on proven Soprod movements.
All capsules in the Hegid collections will now progressively be equipped with the Specimen FE-01 Caliber.
