You don’t want to miss this exquisite exhibition.

I’m so proud to welcome Folklore Rêvé to Galerie FAIRE this August, bringing together the work of four extraordinary artists and dear friends: Yosepa Fiorenita léa bigot Safre - Pièces d’usures and Giulia Zanvit - Multidisciplinary artist.

This is a dreamlike conversation and collaboration between a group of friends around the themes of memories, stories, traditions and community. Wood, earth, textiles, paper and found natural materials come together and the result is generously nourishing and emotionally charged.

But beyond the beauty of the work itself, this exhibition means something deeply personal to me.

To see this calibre of talent inhabiting Galerie FAIRE fills me with far more than pride. This exhibition represents hope.

Hope that collaboration can be more powerful than competition. Hope that by sharing skills, ideas, stories and dreams, we create something inherently good.

This is the kind of creative community I have always dreamed of building through FAIRE magazine, and now, through Galerie FAIRE. A place where conversations continue beyond the page. Where contemporary art, traditional craft and heirloom objects exist in dialogue. Where beauty is not an end in itself, but a way of bringing people together.

I hope you’ll come and experience it for yourself.

Victor Giannotta (Sepa)
Victor Giannotta, known as Sepa, wanders through forests in search of fallen timber. He observes each piece carefully, allowing its character to guide the carving process before working it entirely by hand, using traditional carving and cutting tools, without the aid of electric machinery.

Since 2025, he has devoted his practice to figurative ornamental sculpture, drawing inspiration from medieval bestiaries and the sacred and religious motifs encountered during his travels

Giulia Zanvit

Giulia Zanvit’s work possesses an almost mystical quality. Nature remains ever-present — a silent co-creator with whom the artist interacts with humility. Each piece marks a stage along her journey, inviting us to see the world differently and reminding us that, within simplicity, lies its greatest majesty

Léa Bigot
Léa Bigot is an artist from Réunion Island, a place that continues to nourish her imagination deeply. Drawn to the forms shaped by the elemental forces of nature, her work grows from the emotions evoked through her encounters with the natural world.

Now based in the Drôme Provençale, she cultivates an intentional ambiguity between art and design, creating singular pieces that are sometimes functional, sometimes purely contemplative.

News! Vernissage for Folklore Rêvé

I’m very excited to welcome four remarkable artists to Galerie FAIRE for the month of August where they will open a new exhibition of work exploring folklore, memory and the quiet poetry of place.

Through sculpture, textiles and collected objects, Victor Giannotta (Sepa), Léa Bigot, Giulia Zanvit, and Martin Bady (Safre) weave together imagined worlds inspired by the Balkans, Occitania, the Basque Country and the rich traditions of vernacular craft. Their work blurs the boundaries between myth and reality, inviting us into landscapes where stories linger and everyday materials become something quietly magical.

Please join us for the vernissage this Saturday 1 August from 5pm at Galerie FAIRE, 7 Rue Kléber Guendon, Ménerbes.

We’ll be sharing a generous apéritif with a vinyl soundtrack.

“Il semble que nous ayons envie de rêver d’habiter différemment. À la fois dehors accrochés aux étoiles d’araignées, à la fois protégés de murs de bois épais. À la fois avec presque rien, que notre peau, et à la fois mille motifs gravé dans cette peau. Dans un rêve tout peut se couler et se mêler en contraste.” Lea Bigot

I hope you’ll come and celebrate this beautiful exhibition with us.

Help us pick the front cover of Issue 14 - our truly, very special Faire-well issue.

To all our loyal readers of FAIRE - I am always very grateful for how much you care about our stories, and how strongly you feel about what FAIRE represents, in terms of the artists and craftspeople and the message and values we share with the world.

This is our final issue which comes out at the end of this month and it’s always hard to choose only one artist or creative space to represent the essence of FAIRE and the season during which is published … so please comment and let me know which cover calls to you.

Portrait of Yoanna Wissa Wassef, in her home in Al Labeini in Cairo.

I’m currently laying out the story of Yoanna and her daughter Taya - and the incredible creative community of weavers and batik artists that they support at the Ramses Wissa Wassef Arts Centre.

Spending two days with them and the three generations of weavers as they dyed their threads for the years weaving was one of the most unforgettable experiences of 2026.

The centre was founded more than 70 years ago by architect Ramses Wissa Wassef as a pioneering experiment in artistic freedom, to nurture generations of weavers, helping children discover their own visual language through colour, imagination and craft.

I am so proud to bring this story to the pages of my final issue of FAIRE. This one feels very much like a love letter; to family, and creativity, and to the power and importance of transmission and gentle nurturing of creative expression… but also as an ode to the beautiful people of Egypt who embraced me with kindness, generosity, and good humour.
