Inclusiones en topacios de Pakistán. Me encanta el mundo interior de las gemas y no quería terminar noviembre sin compartir lo que hay dentro de estos topacios que este fin de semana subiré a la web; inclusiones en forma de cometa, sólidos, bifásicas, la misma inclusión con diferentes luces. Esta es la parte de la que más disfruto. Un saludo a todos.

Inclusions in Pakistani topaz. I’ve always been captivated by the inner world of gemstones, and I didn’t want November to end without sharing what lies inside these crystals I’ll be uploading to the website this weekend.
Comet-shaped inclusions, solid crystals, biphasic inclusions, the same internal scene under different lighting—this is the part of my work I enjoy the most.

Tener la tienda online de gemas que yo quiero implica, entre otras cosas, hacer muchas fotos y vídeos. 📸💎
En este caso, tuve que reponer algunos peridotos porque parte del stock se había vendido, y aproveché la ocasión para preparar un blog o guía de compra sobre esta gema.
Y, como suele pasar, una cosa llevó a la otra… acabé haciendo también fotos de conjunto. 💚

I should be working on topazes… but this 5 ct Mexican fire opal stole my attention.
Fluid, sculptural, alive — like a Jean Arp piece that glows from within.
Honestly? This gem deserves to be at the MoMA.

En memoria de mi hermana Tere 💗
Está fue la última foto de perfil de mi hermana Tere; murió de cáncer de mama metastásico el 25 de febrero del 2025 y representa a una cobaya, ya que estaban haciéndola tratamientos experimentales, con un parche en el ojo, ella perdió la visión del suyo debido al cáncer, con un gotero de quimio y vestida como Luke Skywalker, como guiño a “que la fuerza te acompañe”.

Cuando descubrió que tenía cáncer de mama ya estaba en estadio IV, al igual que otras muchas mujeres.
En tres años nos enseñó muchísimas cosas, como que si pierdes un ojo tienes otro, que si no puedes correr puedes andar, y a pesar de todo lo que le robó el cáncer, no perdió su coraje, fuerza y su generosidad hacia todos nosotros.

Era una mujer de ciencia, así que no quiso flores en su entierro, sino donaciones a la asociación de cáncer de mama metastásico.
Ella quería MÁS investigación para todas nosotras.

Por favor, donad a la y a la .
Solo la ciencia nos salvará, decía. Que nunca se nos olvide.
