No todos los rubíes tienen el mismo valor, aunque a simple vista puedan parecer idénticos.

El precio de un rubí depende de factores como el color, la pureza, el origen, el corte, el tamaño y los tratamientos. De hecho, algunos rubíes naturales de Myanmar, conocidos como “Sangre de Paloma”, pueden llegar a valer más que un diamante.

¿Sabes si un zafiro ha sido tratado? 💙

Existen diferentes tratamientos, como el calentamiento, la difusión o el tratamiento con berilio, y algunos pueden ser muy difíciles de detectar a simple vista.

Hay 3 pistas que pueden hacerte sospechar: el precio, la distribución del color y las inclusiones observadas al microscopio. Pero ninguna de ellas confirma por sí sola un tratamiento.

Si estás comprando un zafiro de cierto valor, pregunta siempre a tu proveedor y pide un informe gemológico independiente.

Y recuerda: un zafiro tratado no es necesariamente una mala gema. Lo importante es saber qué estás comprando y valorar la piedra en consecuencia.

Do you know if a sapphire has been treated? 💙

Sapphires can undergo different treatments, including heat treatment, diffusion and beryllium treatment, some of which can be difficult to identify with the naked eye.

Three clues can raise a question: price, colour distribution and inclusions under magnification. But none of these alone can confirm treatment.

When buying a valuable sapphire, always ask your supplier and consider requesting an independent gemological report.

And remember: a treated sapphire is not necessarily a bad gemstone. What matters is knowing exactly what you are buying and valuing it accordingly.

💛 Elegir un diamante amarillo para un anillo de compromiso no es una elección cualquiera.

Los diamantes amarillos naturales pertenecen al mundo de los Fancy Color Diamonds y son mucho menos comunes que los diamantes blancos convencionales.

Pero lo que más me gusta de esta elección no es solo su rareza. Es lo que transmite.

Para mí, elegir un diamante amarillo habla de personalidad, individualidad y seguridad. De no sentir la necesidad de seguir lo establecido y de escoger una joya que realmente tenga que ver contigo.

Y es que un anillo de compromiso no tiene por qué parecerse al de todo el mundo.

A veces, el verdadero lujo está precisamente en atreverse a elegir diferente. 💛

💛 Choosing a yellow diamond for an engagement ring is not an ordinary choice.

Natural yellow diamonds belong to the world of Fancy Color Diamonds and are much less common than conventional white diamonds.

But what I love most about this choice is not only its rarity. It’s what it conveys.

To me, choosing a yellow diamond speaks of personality, individuality and confidence. Of not feeling the need to follow tradition and choosing a jewel that truly feels like you.

Because an engagement ring doesn’t have to look like everyone else’s.

Sometimes, true luxury lies in having the confidence to choose differently. 💛

🐚Ayer os enseñaba un paso que forma parte de muchas de mis joyas a medida: el prototipado en cera.

Pero antes de llegar a la cera, hay algo todavía más importante: la inspiración.

Una textura, una forma de la naturaleza, una pieza antigua, una arquitectura, un recuerdo… incluso una co**ha puede convertirse en el punto de partida de un diseño.

En este caso, la inspiración está en las formas orgánicas y en el movimiento de una co**ha, que poco a poco se transforma en líneas, bocetos, volúmenes y finalmente en una joya.

Ese proceso de pasar de una imagen o una idea a algo que puedes llevar puesto es, para mí, una de las partes más bonitas de crear una joya a medida.

Porque una joya personalizada no empieza en el taller.
Empieza con una idea.

🐚Yesterday I showed you one of the steps behind many of my bespoke jewellery pieces: the wax prototype.

But before wax, there is something even more important: inspiration.

A texture, a natural shape, an antique piece, architecture, a memory… even a seashell can become the starting point for a design.

Here, the inspiration comes from the organic shapes and movement of a shell, gradually transformed into lines, sketches, volumes and eventually into a piece of jewellery.

That journey from an idea to something you can actually wear is one of my favourite parts of creating custom jewellery.

Because a bespoke piece doesn’t start in the workshop.
It starts with an idea.

🐚Una joya a medida no debería quedarse en la pantalla.

Cuando diseño una pieza de alta joyería personalizada en CAD, especialmente cuando tiene que encajar perfectamente con una gema concreta, utilizo un prototipado en cera antes de pasar a la fundición en oro.

Este prototipo 3D nos permite comprobar las proporciones, el tamaño, el encaje de la gema y la viabilidad técnica de la joya. Y si hay algo que ajustar, podemos hacerlo antes de invertir en el metal y en la fabricación definitiva.

Para mi cliente, significa algo muy sencillo: poder ver y comprobar físicamente la joya antes de convertirla en oro, y asegurarnos de que el resultado final sea exactamente el que habíamos imaginado.

Porque diseñar una joya verdaderamente a medida también significa cuidar cada detalle antes de hacerla definitiva.

🐚A bespoke jewel should not exist only on a screen.

When I design a piece of custom fine jewellery in CAD, especially when it needs to fit a specific gemstone perfectly, I use wax prototyping before moving on to gold casting.

The 3D wax prototype allows us to check the proportions, scale, gemstone setting and technical feasibility of the piece. And if anything needs to be adjusted, we can do it before investing in the final metal and production.

For my client, this means being able to see and physically assess the jewel before it is cast in gold — making sure the final piece is exactly what we envisioned.

Because truly bespoke jewellery is also about getting every detail right before making it permanent.
