A delight for the eye, lived experience, and a quiet sense of humor in dealing with the “things of life” unite the three artists, who collaborated on the gallery’s 123rd exhibition at the invitation of Rosemarie Jäger.

Opening: 27. September, 11:00 h.
With a speech by Malte Guttek, Executive Manager of the Association for Goldsmiths’ Art and the director of the German Goldsmiths’ House Hanau.

A book featuring works by the three artists serves as an extension of the exhibition space.

Profile added to Uncovering Contemporary Masters in Art Jewellery in the Klimt02 Archives.

‘’Claus Bury's sculptures explore the intersection of geometric form and spatial experience. Working with elementary geometric bodies, his practice engages rigorously with mathematical systems, while introducing witty displacements of horizontal and vertical planes.’’

Claus Bury is a German sculptor and goldsmith. His artistic journey began in the 1960s with training as a goldsmith at the Staatliche Zeichenakademie in Hanau (1962–1965) and Pforzheim (1965–1968), leading to a celebrated and influential role in the international auteur jewellery scene. In 1979, Bury undertook a radical departure, abandoning jewellery design for large-scale sculpture and fine art. This pivotal shift coincided with a relocation to Providence, Rhode Island, where he developed his distinctive approach.

overSTATEment is an open call for oversized jewellery objects bearing ironic, absurd, or humorous slogans in any language, drawing on an international tradition of absurdist processions — from Poland's Orange Alternative to Siberia's Monstration — and its way of speaking when speaking directly is no longer enough.
