The Royal Oak Perpetual Calendar, with nowhere for the mechanics to hide.

The Audemars Piguet ref. 25829 takes the classic 39mm Royal Oak perpetual calendar and opens the dial completely, exposing the gears, levers and calendar mechanism beneath.

Inside is the ultra-thin calibre 2120/2802, built on the legendary Jaeger-LeCoultre 920 architecture — the same movement family that helped define the original Royal Oak, Nautilus and 222.

Here, though, the movement becomes the design.

Executed entirely in 18k yellow gold, this is one of the most compelling early openworked Royal Oaks.

The Cream V2 Unique Piece by Designa Individual Watches has been reworked in 41mm, giving the watch a stronger presence while keeping the restrained cream-toned aesthetic that defined the original project.

A subtle take on customization by DiW standards, and that might be exactly why it works.
