🐣 Easter Monday Reflection ✨
Having spent several years in Jaén as a Visiting Professor, the city has long held a special place in my heart. Experiencing Holy Week there deepened my appreciation of what it truly represents—an entire community, young and old alike—coming together in shared heritage, artistry, and a profound respect for traditions passed through generations.
To be invited to take part in the Good Friday procession, wearing the traditional peineta and mantilla, was a true honour. It felt like a meaningful way to reconnect with a place that has given me so much—and to be included, even briefly, in something so deeply rooted in its cultural identity.
Like the timeless beauty of golden South Sea pearls, moments like these are rare, luminous, and meant to be treasured.
Grateful for the experience, the people, and the enduring beauty of Jaén. 🤍
