OMEGA Constellation Double Eagle Chronograph – 1542.40.00

Some watches spend years hiding in plain sight before people finally understand them.

For me, the Omega Constellation Double Eagle Chronograph Ref. 1542.40.00 has always been one of those watches.

I’ve been quietly watching the market for these for a long time now, and lately it feels like the entire Constellation line is finally starting to receive the attention it deserved years ago.
Slowly, collectors are beginning to look back at this era of Omega differently — and references like this are exactly why.

The Double Eagle carries everything that made late-1990s watch design so special and it has the unmistakable Constellation “griffes,” and that textured grey-blue dial that just looks super interesting.

Inside sits the Omega Caliber 1270 — a brilliant meca-quartz chronograph movement.

What makes this reference interesting today is that it still feels overlooked. While the market keeps chasing the same predictable integrated sports watches at impossible prices, pieces like the Double Eagle remain quietly sitting in the background — collectible, distinctive, and full of character for those paying attention.

A charismatic and increasingly hard-to-find Heuer Camaro Ref. 73343NT (fourth ex*****on / MK4) featuring one of the most attractive tropical dials I’ve seen in recent years.

Originally born with a black “Noir Tachy” dial configuration, this example has developed an exceptional brown-green-blue tropical patina that shifts beautifully depending on the light.

The warm yellowish tachymeter scale and vivid yellow-orange chronograph hands create the unmistakable late-1960s “exotic dial” aesthetic that made these Camaros cult favorites among vintage Heuer collectors.

The crisp dial is complemented by evenly aged dark cream tritium lume throughout, adding further warmth and depth to the watch.

The sharp steel case retains strong proportions with only minor signs of polishing and honest wear from age.

A note to the lucky one getting this watch: wait until you see it in real life. It looks even better!

IWC Golf Club SL – Ref. 1829 – Pellaton cal. 8541

The Golf Club is a distinctive late-1970s design from IWC, combining a sporty look with clean, understated lines.

Its plated, rhodium-finished dial has a brushed texture and a neutral grey tone that works well with almost any strap choice.

The design is generally attributed to Gérald Genta during his time working with IWC in the late 1970s. While more low-key than some of his better-known designs, the connection is clear in the proportions and overall shape.

Production is estimated at only around 1,000 pieces, which makes it relatively hard to find today.

Back to the 1970s with this

OMEGA SEAMASTER BLUE REVERSE PANDA CHRONOGRAPH Ref.: 145.029 – cal. 861

It’s vintage, it’s blue, it features a legendary hand-wound movement—and it has a blue reverse panda dial.

Some watches immediately bring something to mind just by their look. With this Seamaster, it’s “denim.”

The dial shows an even patina across the blue areas, giving it a distinct character—similar to how a good pair of jeans develops its look over time.

The case appears unpolished, and the hands, crown, pushers, and crystal are all original.

At 38 mm, it’s a versatile size that works well on many wrists.

It comes on a new handmade leather strap from Germany, tapering from 22 mm to an 18 mm vintage-style buckle.

Inside is the hand-wound caliber 861, also known from the Speedmaster, making this Seamaster Chronograph a strong and reliable choice.

A great-looking piece with solid specs.

LONGINES Flyback Chronograp – Ref. 5967 – 18K Gold – Jumbo Case

This Longines ref. 5967 is one of those watches you don’t really need to oversell — it speaks for itself once it’s on the wrist.

The 38.5mm 18k gold case has a great presence and appears to remain unpolished. Edges are still sharp and the hallmarks are clearly visible, including the Helvetia stamp for 18k gold. It’s fitted with its original signed “priest’s hat” crown, which is something you don’t see that often anymore.

Inside is the cal. 30CH, Longines’ flyback chronograph movement. It runs exactly how you’d hope — smooth pusher feel, clean reset — just a very satisfying chronograph to use.

The dial is what caught me first. It’s taken on a strong, even patina over the years, giving it that warm, almost salmon tone that changes depending on the light. The red and blue telemeter scale adds a bit of life without being too much. Original hands are still there, which pulls the whole watch together.

It comes on a new handmade saffiano leather strap made in Germany, paired with a new original Longines pin buckle.

Overall, it’s just a very honest example with all the details you want — unpolished case, correct parts, and a dial that gives it real character. The kind of watch you end up wearing more than expected.

Private note from me:
This is one of those pieces I’d be perfectly happy to keep. The dial and overall feel just make it easy to like — and hard to replace.

LONGINES Flyback Chronograp – Ref. 5967 – 18K Gold – Jumbo Case
38.5mm, unpolished case, Helvetia hallmarks still sharp.

Cal. 30CH flyback chronograph — exactly the kind of movement you want to actually use, not just look at.

The dial has aged beautifully into a warm, almost salmon tone, with a red & blue telemeter scale that gives it just the right amount of contrast.

Original hands, original signed “priest’s hat” crown.

Fresh handmade saffiano strap from Germany with a new original Longines pin buckle.

Not overdone, not restored into something it’s not — just honest, well-preserved, and full of character.

HEUER Ref. 73323 S – silver sunburst dial with clean matte white sub-dials.

In the light, it really comes alive.
The tritium has aged to that soft, creamy tone we all like to see, and the dial is in great shape overall, just a couple of tiny spots if you look closely.

The orange chrono hand adds a nice bit of contrast, paired with the tachymeter scale.

This is one of those honest vintage racing chronographs that just feels right.

Manual-wind Valjoux 7733, solid and easy to live with, classic two-register layout, and a full steel case that hasn’t been messed with. The silver dial with white registers gives it a lighter, almost summery feel—compelling in its own way.

The 73323 came out around 1970 and doesn’t show up all that often anymore. It was available in a few dial variants: S (silver/white), NT (reverse panda, sometimes with a white tachy), and SN (panda).

The patina is spot on—proper, even aging over the last 50+ years without taking anything away from the watch.

It’s fitted with a new handmade strap from Germany (WATCHURBIA’s Desert Drift suede in sand), along with a new original Heuer pin buckle.

Valjoux 7733, signed Heuer-Leonidas. Simple, reliable, and exactly what you want in a watch like this.
