Gestüt Eichenhain Das Gestüt Eichenhain ist pferdefreundlich konstruiert, die Pferde sind in großzügig gebauten und hellen Stallungen untergebracht.

In 2004 the beautiful manor along with what remained of the original estate of Gestuet Eichenhain (approximately 10 hectares) was purchased by its current owner who bought it with the singular goal of creating a first class facility to breed and produce top level showjumpers. Great time and effort were expended since 2004 to restore the manor and stables as well as to reacquire the original lands.

At this point, most of the original lands have been reacquired and the buildings have been painstakingly restored with attention paid to every detail. The name 'Gestüt Eichenhain' was given to the stud to pay homage to the grove of giant oak trees that dominates the property. The stud is only ten minutes away from the town of Verden which is the seat of the Hanoverian Society (Hannoveraner Verband) in the heartland of horse country. Approximately 50 mares from the best European mother lines call Gestuet Eichenhain and it's sister stables home, in addition to around 65 horses-in-training and 200 young horses from foals to 3 year olds. The farm has produced several internationally successful horses such as All Star 5 ridden by Denis Lynch (IRL) and Bella Donna ridden by Meredith Michaels-Beerbaum (GER) and later by Hamad Ali Mohamed Al Attiyah (QAT), Lolita ridden by Johnathan Asselin (CAN) and later by Ben Asselin (CAN). Over the past few years the stud has developed a solid partnership with world-renowned jockey Rolf-Goran Bengtsson who has too many accolades to list here but among them are an Olympic Individual Silver Medal (2008 Beijing), an Olympic Team Silver Medal (2004 Athens), and a European Championship Individual Gold Medal (2011 Madrid). Rolf is currently riding two of our upcoming stars Oak Grove's Enkidu and Oak Grove's Carlyle.

R.I.P. Cumano (31/03/1993 – 20/09/2018)

Unfortunately, we had to say goodbye to Cumano today.

Cumano was one of the greatest horses I’ve ever ridden and had some of my most beautiful successes with.
- 1st place at the World Championships in 2006 in Aachen
- 2nd place at the European Championships in 2007 in Mannheim
- 1st (2004), 2nd (2008) and 3rd (2007) place at the Grand Prix of Spruce Meadows (Calgary)
- and many more...

He was a horse who never gave up and never let me down.
After his sporting career, he was enjoying his well deserved retirement in the fields at my stables in Meeuwen.
He was in the field day in and day out.
Even when he was enjoying his retirement, he always showed that he was still the king.

Thank you for everything, buddy.
You’re not with us anymore, but you will live forever in our hearts.

The weekend’s looking good!!! All 6 horses were clear in the first qualifying rounds of the WBCYH in Lanaken yesterday with 4 making it though to the Final on Sunday today! Top Job Team!!! Good Luck for Sunday!!! 🌍🐴🍀🎉💪
