As we get busy with our crazy lives, we often feel that we are losing our fashion edge. And yet, we CAN remain stylish, edgy and fun without compromising our integrity and self-respect. And should embrace styles that rock that look since having a look that empowers us is a confidence booster. My hope is to encourage women to celebrate the positive aspects of who they are without agreeing to fade i
nto the background as we often feel. I hope you will join me on this journey and inspire me too!! Join me on Facebook and let’s exchange views on ways we can do this:

Who I design for
The woman I design for is in many ways me but in more ways she is the woman I aspire to be. Let me introduce myself
I'm Joy Baldwin Papadantonaki (I know that's long!) I'm the founder of Otherwise Jewelry. What inspired the creation of Otherwise Jewelry? It was over ten years ago that I began designing during one of the busiest times of my life. I was the mother of two young children, was working on my Master's degree and I was also teaching English as a second language in Greece. A friend gave me a gift of a handmade bracelet and I fell in love both with the bracelet and with the idea of her creating it for me. This is what I wanted to do! The next day I started searching on how I could create my own jewelry. It wasn't long before my art was in many stores all over Greece's mainland and islands. I still keep that gift of a bracelet on my desk to remind me how it all began. My many mixed backgrounds and experiences keep me creating
I'm half Canadian, half American but was born and raised in Greece. In many ways I feel I fit in more in Greece than in my homeland. So, I married a Greek (with a very long last name) and lived there until recently when I moved to Switzerland. So it's a time of new beginnings for me. My greatest loves are God, my family and a few good friends. I enjoy a good book or movie, spicy food and a good laugh. I am also interested in people (and so my studies in psychology) and their life stories. This country has given me a chance to meet so many different people with unique backgrounds! What do I care about more than creating jewelry? I care about people and their stories! I am inspired by the choices women make that change their life courses and make them who they are. I am inspired by the woman I design for. The reason my studies were in counselling was because I wanted to empower myself, first of all, and then others to reach their full potential as human beings, to be proud of their achievements, to have confidence - not ego - and to care for others in need. I create for this woman and use my jewelry as a reminder of who I am striving to become. That is my constant goal; it is where I am headed. I am hoping that it also inspires you to be the woman you aspire to be. Keep in touch to see what is coming next!
