Inside Stadelmann - Episode 04

Tamara guides our clients from the very first idea to the finished piece. Repairs, gifts or engagement rings: no two requests are ever the same.

What unites them all is a relationship founded on trust.

We told you! 👀

The rivière ring with lavender spinels is a unique handmade piece from our jewelry department. It consists of a purple spinel from Burma and two blue spinels from Tanzania.

The ring with the unique gemstones is forged from 0.950 platinum to give the piece of jewelry a perfect shine.

Although this type of ring can be reproduced in theory, it is never exactly the same as the spinels are always created anew and differently by nature. This is why our pieces of jewelry are often unique in their own way.

Every gemstone tells a story, and it begins with a closer look.

In this episode, we show how a stone is identified in our atelier. The first step is always visual: under magnification and the microscope, we search for natural inclusions or signs that point to a synthetic or imitation stone. Further tests with the polariscope, the refractometer and the measurement of specific gravity then confirm what the eye suspects.

What Nicole enjoys most about a consultation says a lot about how we work.

It begins with the people, getting to know each customer and understanding what they are truly looking for. But once the conversation turns to gemstones, her real passion comes through.

Some questions are best answered in person, so feel free to stop by our store at Marktgasse 29.

A small complaint about the emoji selection 👆

If jewelry emojis actually reflected our daily business, they would include signet rings, colored gemstones, and many more.

And what about ‘Stadelmännchen’?

A stage for creativity

Seven to eight times a year, our shopfront is completely transformed. It becomes a canvas for the creative minds in our team, providing an outlet for their imagination and eye for detail.

Come and see what it looks like today, then come back in a few months, it will look nothing like it.

The oval solitaire

A quieter take on a familiar form. 1.7 ct, oval cut, set in polished 950 platinum, made entirely in our atelier.

Some shapes never go out of style, they just find new expressions.

A sculptural ring with a floral feel: white gold encircles a large lime green tourmaline in a distinctive shape.

A ring with a strong presence and gentle lines. The slightly floral design is reminiscent of a blossoming calyx surrounding the large, lime green tourmaline. The precious white gold lends the piece a clear modernity, while the soft design language gives it a natural and lively appearance.

A perfect fit makes all the difference.

Ring resizing is a delicate process that combines technical expertise with precision craftsmanship. Depending on the design, a ring can often be carefully adjusted to achieve a more comfortable fit while preserving its original beauty.

Every piece is individually assessed in our atelier to determine the best approach. Our goal is always the same. To maintain the integrity of the design while ensuring it can be worn with confidence for years to come.
