Is it Drag ? New York Magazine thought so. I was at the first drag March in 94. I’ve played drums in the March I’ve done it in tragedy town drag Ren Faire garb and whatever I have on hand. Finding a frock when you’re this large is a challenge. No one cares what you wear. People are in joy mode. Even now. I spent the day making a beaker with a disco hat motor that had a magic spoon rotating inside of it. Velcro’d to the hat. Trust I have plenty of more moving sculptures in the works. Thank you Drag March for all the years of inspiration and love.

The men in my family garden. My grandfather was a farmer. My father made me a garden patch when I was 6. It’s something I’ve always loved. My dad put me on a crew of rough necks when I was 13 in Pittsburgh. All those men had gardens. They’d bring baskets of vegetables to job sites to give to the people in the factories we would be doing work on. There were funny moments where guys from the crew would be trying to off load tomatoes to steel mill workers who were likewise trying to gift their tomatoes. It’s probably still like that in Pittsburgh. I hope it is. gardening

One of NYC’s greatest living artists. I met Geova in a bar 20 years ago. I’ve been buying his one of a kind pieces ever since. I literally one block from his shop before someone stopped me and asked about my new shirt. Geova is a compulsive maker with shows in Paris Milan and Rio. We are so lucky to have him. It’s a rare old world experience to sit in an Atilier with the person who does the work by hand. He’s such delightful character. ❤️
