Behind the design is Kindred Lubeck of Artifex Fine Jewelry. According to her website, she was "once told that she would never be a jewelry designer." She decided to prove them wrong, becoming a designer, goldsmith, hand engraver, and vintage jewelry collector, and now her work is at the center of one of the most talked-about love stories.

My first customer ended up being a scam artist and not a customer at all. Instead of using my online store, she sent me a picture of a bracelet and asked if it was still available. When I said yes and sent her a link to my online store, she ghosted me for a while and then came back with how much is it? When I told her the price and that she could go online and buy it and then I would either send it to her or she could pick it up if she was local she ghosted me again. Then she came back with I’m gonna have my brother pick it up. To which I responded fine she could still go online and purchase it or he could pay me at the door. I take cash or plastic. I was really bending over backwards for her. Then she says he doesn’t have an account. And suggests we use PayPal. After thinking about this for a few moments, I said sure, but I have to see the money in my PayPal account before I give him the bracelet. After seeing no sign of a notification from PayPal and no email from them letting me know of her payment I decided to look in my spam folder. You may as well call it a scam folder. There I found an email claiming to be from a PayPal business service agent, Sending me email from a Gmail address. See the screenshot below for what it said. There’s absolutely no way I’m going to insist that a customer of mine cough up an extra $400 in order for that money to be returned to her and for the $45 for the bracelet to go through. I have a business account. This isn’t PayPal this is someone trying to scam me. She claims she received the same type of email insisting that she pay the $400. She says that I am the scammer. She says I don’t wanna be out $45 insisting that I have her money. I don’t. If I did, she could simply put a complaint in with PayPal and they would return her funds. I even challenged her to send her brother the way she said she was going to and I will just give her the bracelet she was interested in regardless of whether I’ve seen anything on PayPal from her. She wants my phone number. I will not give her my phone number because I don’t know how she can use that against me either by harassing me or getting access to my accounts somehow. I am worried about giving her any more information than she already has.
When I refuse to cooperate with her she threatens to ruin my business. I have held onto our conversation. I have taken screenshots of my interaction online with the actual PayPal. She refuses to send me a screenshot of her receipt for the money she said she sent. She sent me one from last week instead with a different dollar amount insisting that that was me also. I am absolutely livid! Photos below are of the scam email and the threats she made on my messenger.
SHE insisted that I call the number on that email and I have no doubt that if I did, I would hear a dozen other voices in the background of a boiler room Call Centre for scam artists just like this. She sent me numerous voice files with a male voice and heavy Indian accent, threatening me and insisting I pay her back something I haven’t received. I looked up the phone number and it comes back to 2 people who have addresses in New Jersey and North Carolina. I will be submitting that phone number and any information that I can supply including my entire conversation with her to the Windsor police and they can forward it as they see fit. For now, I have blocked her. She cannot write on my page and she cannot communicate further with me. I hope any damage she thinks she can do to my online business will be minimal. I refuse to be held hostage by this type of person.

It has taken me the better part of a month to get my ducks in a row, but it was worth it. With the closing of the Walkerville Artists' Collective, I had to find some other way of selling my jewellery. So here is my solution. My brand new online store is live! I can deliver locally through Door Dash and ship anywhere in the world for a flat rate. Come check me out! And as I create new pieces I can immediately offer them for sale on my store.
