Over the past week, I had the wonderful opportunity to spend time in Klemtu offering impactful workshops and connecting with the community. This reminded me where my time and energy belongs. My practice has always been rooted in presence, relationship, and shared experience. That time reaffirmed what I have known for some time. I feel most aligned when I am close to the people I create for, where stories are exchanged and connections are real.
After this reflection, I have decided to depart from the TIDAL pop-up to direct my energy where I feel it will best be served, and toward a longer term vision.
Being part of the TIDAL Indigenous Pop-Up Store was an incredible opportunity. It was a privilege to contribute to a space that marks an important step in Indigenous-led retail in Canada. I am proud of what was built and grateful for the chance to be a small part of it.
My jewelry will always remain my creative outlet and passion and will continue to be available online and at select markets and events where I can engage directly with my community.
You can always find upcoming opportunities to connect in person with the markets I will be attending at hawklace.com/pages/events. In addition, I offer workshops, community gatherings, mediumship readings, and creative sessions that invite people to engage with Indigenous knowledge, art, and storytelling in meaningful ways. If you are interested in bringing Hawk Lace into your workplace, community, or event, I would love to hear from you. Please feel free to reach out at [email protected] or through the contact page on my website.
BIG THANK YOU to Capilano University, Bentall Centre, and everyone who brought TIDAL Indigenous to life. I also extend my appreciation to the artists who remain part of the store. I wish Ravensong Soaps, Copper Canoe Woman, Bear Essential Oils, and Sriracha Revolver the very best as the pop-up continues its journey during the next few months.
With gratitude, I would like to thank my community for your continued support. It means everything that this work continues to grow with you beside it.
All my relations,
Sade Makerra Auger
