This trio has so much sparkle, so much starshine ✨ + I am totally here for it 💋👌

Heading off to their human for a 65th birthday celebration next week. Amethyst focal bead with all the dreamy colours, Amethyst Phantom ((gasp super yummy)), Smoky Quartz, Rutilated Gold Leaf Quartz, Grey Wood, and Citrine.

It is fitting for me to have taken this request on as this would’ve been the time of year my booth and I are at Goderich Celtic Roots Festival and College . It was hard not to be there this past weekend but it’s not time for me to be in crowds or labouring to set up tents + displays and working from about 10am - 10pm daily. It’s hard work being an artist and doing shows is nothing to scoff at. Those vendors in front of you worked their asses off before, during, and after the show. Give them some love, maybe ask if you can grab them a drink, say thank you, and for god’s sake don’t haggle over prices!

Creating is sacred work.

Each commission piece is unique unto itself. I never know what’s going to come up until I ask the energies to start directing me , then I sit with the stones and listen.

This beauty has waited patiently for me and now it is going home to its human tomorrow. In a particularly difficult time, my hope is that I captured the essence of the gifter’s requested intentions and the subtle energies needed to be a touchstone in heavy waters.

Sodalite, turquoise, citrine, sterling silver feather charm, and love.

Turquoise is a well known in many traditions for its grounding and protective qualities. (Please note when I use the term protection, this is not from a fear based belief system, rather it is from a place of clear distinct boundaries preserving your energy from depletion - rather like a favourite blanket from your Grandma that your wrap yourself in imbuing you with a sense of peace, love and security that you are held.)

Sacred in many traditions, Turquoise is associated with the sky, and bringing that energy to earth. A powerful healing stone, it is used to promote honest and clear communication from the heart, and helps to ease stress or anxiety (something I attribute to it's resonance with the thymus gland which resides between the Heart & Throat chakra, is associated with the colour turquoise, and helps regulate the immune system). It is a stone used on the journey of self-realization, wisdom and understanding.

The feather harnesses the power of Air, thought and consciousness, as well as signifies communications from our surroundings and the Spirit realm. In cultures across the globe, feathers are believed to be messages from our beloveds who have passed, from the Universe itself, from angels and other guides. Work with the messages you are being sent, recognize the power of your own thoughts, and lean deeply into the knowing that everything is inextricably connected, even when we feel alone.

I have a line up of commissions to attend to right now and I was so happy to be able to get to this request first. This little beauty is for an eleven year old’s birthday. Honestly I get a little nervous creating for young humans. There’s so much happening in their lives. It’s a privilege for me to be a part of the story of support and love from their older humans. So being that the recipient of this creation is not on any of my business pages, I will share here with you what transpired from the stones.

Australian Boodstone, Apple Jasper, Lodolite, and love.

Bloodstone is an excellent stone to assist us with courage, strength, calmness and centering. It is a fantastic root chakra stone that can help in reviving the self on all levels especially during times of stress or emotional traumas. It is a helpful stone to work with to release blockages. It is said to help remove self doubt and nourish feelings of self worth, self confidence and self sufficiency by calming the emotions, clearing confusion and enhancing decision making. It can help you to become aware when it is best to withdraw from situations, when to be flexible and which actions will help you remain true to yourself.

An excellent stone for promoting relaxation and balance, Jasper is known as the "Supreme Nurturer." It supports an increase in creativity and endurance by increasing the flow of Chi or Lifeforce energy. The steady, consistent, supportive energy of this stone is most frequently referred to as "grounding". It simply connects us to the stabilizing energies of the Earth. As such, it instils a strong foundation for deriving courage and strength. I recently read the best description of Jaspers as the “Wisdom Keepers of the Earth” and I couldn’t agree more.

Red Apple Jasper will resonate with the root chakra and our explorations of our communities, family, our soul’s path or purpose, our basic needs as a human being in the body we inhabit, and our sense of ethics and security. The Apple Jasper is a vibrant red - it is happy, uplifting, solid, secure and passionate.

Lodolite, also known as Garden Quartz, or Landscape Quartz, is a stone with a unique symphony of mineral inclusions which create magical landscapes that look like gardens, forests and underwater havens (great for traversing hidden emotions, thoughts, habits, and precious gifts within us). Each bead is a completely different world perfect for exploring - delightful for the seeker of those hidden treasures that bring us more Light. Lodolite is a beautiful stone for use in healing journeys. Assisting one to explore different perspectives, this inclusion quartz helps stabilize & provide harmony while giving us a direct line to Spirit Guides, the natural kingdoms & the spirit plane. Another commissioned piece is going off to their human. This very special combination has more stones in it than I usually have in my designs but it is the perfect symphony to reflect the giver’s intentions and the receiver’s own unique needs right now.

Since there are a lot of stones in this piece, let’s focus on Obsidian.

Obsidian is a natural, volcanic glass (think about the power of that!) that was commonly used for scrying (a meditative/divinatory tool for accessing guidance & information). Obsidian is a protective stone, and is excellent for removing ‘negativity’ or more accurately, dense energies. In energy work, it is used to cut attachment cords. It is a grounding stone, and very healing/helpful when you are "doing your work". Obsidian goes directly to the root of issues and challenges and is revealing, reflective and truth exposing. So be forewarned, it can get uncomfortable, but it is the support you will need to make important change and pivotal revelations. It is an excellent manifestation stone - it sharpens and focuses internal and external vision, and helps get in touch with buried issues.

These delicious Grey Obsidian are a more rare form of obsidian than the black or ‘sheen’ varieties.

This piece should be arriving to its owner any day now. As is most often the case, I received a commission request citing what the person is working on and calling forth into their life. This is what the stones replied to that particular call.

Garnet is a stone of passionate commitment - to oneself, to others and to your purpose. It is a very stabilizing crystal that brings order - both internally or externally.
