My name is Aurora and I founded Hot Fox Jewelry Co. in 2016 after many years of making jewelry as a hobby and occasional source of income. I decided when I opened this shop to dedicate more time and energy into making my jewelry & art my career. Venus Studios, a labour of love! My inspiration comes from experiences and imagery that have left an impression throughout my life. I have always felt a deep connection to the natural world, to plants, animals and insects. You can see this reflected in my work. I have a large collection of vintage nature books and love the illustration work. Some of my jewelry pieces are vintage illustrations applied to laser cut wood. I also derive inspiration from occult imagery, mythos and fairytales which have fascinated me since I was a child. The feeling I try to portray with my work is a timeless nod to fairytale, magic and lore with an ethereal quality. I take great joy in making beautiful and unique jewelry and art. Another passion is vintage clothing , jewelry and kitsch. my jewelry work usually is partially assemblage and includes components from vintage jewelry. I also am an avid collector and sometimes need to purge a few treasures. So you will find some of those listed for sale here from time to time. I source my new materials through ethical channels and make sure the metals do not contain lead. I use recycled leather for my work to breathe new life into it. The gemstones are purchased from reputable sellers and of excellent quality or are from vintage jewelry that I deconstruct. Feathers are sourced mostly from local farms and rescues and from friends who have birds as pets. It's very important to me that what I make has integrity!
