I’m so grateful to work with wood. I love how it’s perfectly beautiful just as it is.
One of my favourites to use is ebony. It’s a true black colour, incredibly hard and polishes to a stone like finish. The grain is so tight it can even handle a bit of moisture. This is the wood that started it all. I was given some boards to play around with back in the beginning and when I ran out I went on the hunt to buy more. I quickly discovered I couldn’t find it ethically harvested and for how slow growing it is I didn’t want to. This led to many wonderful relationships with local wood workers who continue to keep me supplied with the prettiest off cuts and old bits. Creating jewelry from this precious wood has lead to important conversations about sustainability, resources and what we value. Thank you ebony 🖤

⚽️✨Sometimes I get to make stuff that isn’t jewelry. The fine folks at the BIA asked me to make a Face-in-hole (or whatever they’re called lol) that is 4x6’ and football/soccer themed. So fun to get to create something totally out of my usual comforts! I chose to do a vinyl wrap of my little drawing instead of paint to save time and make it easier to peel off for the next artist. (Thanks Cam for helping with the bubble free application)
It’s only a couple blocks from the store in the centre of the new Kamloops and Hastings Plaza. I get to pass by it and see people popping their heads through. It’s the best!

Hooray it’s patio weather! ☀️🍺 I’ve been making sk8 beer bottle openers for ages but it’s time for a fresh design. Introducing the tear drop shape with an inset opener. Still original graphics on the top, small enough to throw in a junk drawer, no need to ‘explain’ what it is and the best part… it’s cheap to ship!
Ok time to do some product testing ;)
