A small town, a big tradition.

Glashütte has made watches since 1845. NOMOS has been part of that story since 1990, and today it makes more mechanical watches than any other company in Germany.

The details tell you who they are. Their movements are built, assembled, and regulated in a building that once housed a workshop for marine chronometers. Their production hall is made of local larch wood and reuses the heat from its own machines. And every year, an old church in town becomes the NOMOS Forum, where new watches are shown to guests from around the world.

We understand that way of working. For decades, Palladio has been an independent family house in Vancouver. We turned to independent watchmaking, and we chose every watchmaker on our own judgement. NOMOS is one of them because the work holds, with or without the name on the dial.

Falling in love feels like floating.

This ring holds that feeling. A princess-cut diamond sits between the two ends of the band, held only by pressure. There are no prongs and no claws. The metal holds the stone the way two people hold each other: firmly, and without hiding anything. From the side, the diamond seems to hang in the air, with light passing all around it.

It takes great skill to make a setting like this. The band must be shaped and tensioned with care, so the pressure is just right. Too little, and the stone moves. Too much, and the balance is lost. Like love, it works because both sides keep holding on.

🪄Consider yourself enchanted.

This pendant is all thorns and light. Branches of thorns twist through an open frame, and every one is set with small diamonds, edge to edge. The back is cut away so light passes through the whole piece. Even the bail, the small loop that holds the chain, carries a diamond. It is a little dark, very romantic, and impossible to look away from.

No tricks this Halloween. Only treats.

Green in the Vortex.

The Antarctique Tourbillon Victory Green began as a bespoke order. One collector asked for a watch that did not exist yet. Czapek made it, then added it to the collection as an edition of 10 pieces.

That is how Czapek works. The house is independent, and its collectors helped bring the name back in 2015. They build for the person first. Their own line says it well: we collect rare people.

We see ourselves in that. For decades, we have chosen independent makers over catalogue product. We believe the best pieces start with a person, not a production plan.

Look closely at the dial. The hand-guilloché pattern is called Singularité, made by Czapek with Metalem. In a classic guilloché rosace, every line starts from one point. Here, the starting point moves with each pass of the lathe. The lines turn toward the flying tourbillon like a vortex, and the dial seems to go deeper the longer you look. The pattern needed its own custom cam to exist.

The base is Czapek’s Secret Alloy, turned forest green through PVD. Green hour markers and partially skeletonised hands carry Super-LumiNova. The case is 40.5mm in 18k 2N yellow gold. Inside is Calibre 9, Czapek’s in-house automatic movement with a flying tourbillon.

Ten pieces. Each one owes its start to a single request.

Proud to support the Joy of Sport Gala, helping Special Olympics BC change lives through the power and joy of sport.

This is the time of year we celebrate the causes close to our hearts. And we love giving back.

On Thursday, October 22, BC sport and business leaders come together with Special Olympics BC athletes at the Fairmont Pacific Rim. Funds raised support year-round sport, youth, and health programs that give athletes with intellectual disabilities purpose, friendships, and fitness, at low or no cost to their families.

The gala was once known as the Sports Celebrities Festival. Over 27 years, it has raised more than $11.5 million for these athletes.
This year again, we are giving a $10,000 shopping experience at Palladio Jewellers to the raffle winner.

In the photo, Jason welcomes last year’s winner back to the store. A happy moment for us, and a reminder of what one ticket can do for athletes across the province.

Preserving the gestures that matter.

From Naples to Fleurier, two cultures share one belief: a tradition stays alive only when hands keep practising it.
Alessandro Marinella is the fourth generation of E. Marinella, the Neapolitan house known for its ties. For him, craft is a family story told through silk, handwork and an instinct for proportion.

On his wrist, the Parmigiani Fleurier TORIC Petite Seconde tells its own story of transmission. Michel Parmigiani’s knowledge as a restorer lives on in the hand-grained gold dial. The nubuck strap follows the rhythm of punto a mano, the Neapolitan hand stitch. Platinum, silk, leather and gold are not there as signs of status. They were chosen for what they allow the hand to achieve.

This is what we look for at Palladio. Pieces that carry the mark of the hands that made them, and leave room for the person who will wear them. Because inheritance is not about repeating the past. It is about knowing what deserves to be carried forward, and making it your own.

Happy Halloween from the Overlook Hotel. 🎃

This October, we found the perfect writing companion for spooky season. Montegrappa’s tribute to Stanley Kubrick’s The Shining turns one of the scariest films ever made into a pen.

The clip is the key to Room 237, with a red tag. Open the cap’s peephole and the twins appear, framed by the words “Come play with us.” A maze is engraved around the cap band. The barrel opens like the elevator doors to show the ink inside, deep red. Even the 18k gold nib carries Jack’s outline. And all around the blind cap: “All work and no play makes Jack a dull boy.”

Happy Boss’s Day, Jason.

Some of the best things about Jason are not in a display case.

For decades, Jason has treated this work as more than selling a beautiful object. He helps people mark the biggest moments of their lives. He builds real friendships with the makers and partners we work with. And he gives back to communities far beyond Vancouver. The people he has helped remember him, and so do we.

He has travelled the world to meet the makers and spoken to the press about the art of watchmaking. He has covered long distances on two wheels. Yet, most days, you’ll find him right here, behind the counter, gloves on, sharing a piece of jewellery crafted at our own bench by our goldsmith, or a masterpiece brought to life by an independent watchmaker in an atelier somewhere in the world.
